In the tour program Neil says that The Camera Eye was never performed live before. He must be losing his memory because it most certainly was performed on the Moving Pictures Tour in 1981.

I saw them do it front row.

It was played on the Signals tour too, though in a shortened version.

Oh come on. Especially with the crazy amount of touring they do, how can you expect them to remember the setlist on a tour from 30 years ago? Neil's not the only one, I've seen interviews with Ged and Al where one of them will say it was never played and then the other says "wait I think we did play it once", etc. Not a big deal, anyway.

Like the current shortened version?

They only played about half of the song on the Signals tour. Either the beginning New York section or latter London section would be played.

I used to have a bootleg of them doing The Camera Eye live at some State Fair (Pennsylvania, I think).

Perhaps that was on this same tour, I don't know.

Their answers are never consistent. Sometimes they say they played Camera Eye and sometimes they deny it. Hmmm. Seems a bit odd, doesn't it? Are they trying to hide something??? It could be a scam...no, wait, it's a conspiracy!!!

Nah, they just suck.................

But doesn't everyone already know that?

I bet they forgot they actually wrote some songs. Decades of touring and focusing on what they are currently doing leads to lapses in memory. I can't remember in detail what I did day to day last year, let alone decades ago.

He forgot because he's not as big a fan as you are.

Exactly. We, as the fans, probably know their trivia better than they do.

Welcome to TRF, Rash 2112.

I also heard Rush play TCE on the Moving Pictures and Signals tours of 1981-82. But I have trouble remembering most of the '81 concert. Was it the drugs or my date that distracted me? I don't recall.

The guys probably take a "Well, if you say so" approach to all the trivia and info fans tell them -- stuff they forgot about over time.
