  3. The guys should have extended CA by about three minutes so it would clock in at 69 minutes.

  5. I would agree about "Xanadu" from ESL. I also like "The Pass" from Rush In Rio.
  6. I voted for Natural Science, but I'm somewhat surprised there are no votes (so far) for Working Man.
  7. Look up "Bobby Pepper" and friend me.
  8. This is me now. Compare to the photo below - me 40 pounds and three years ago. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6137/5986387840_5052106993.jpg
  9. I appreciate the birthday wishes, everyone. I've been through some tough personal stuff in recent months, but I'm feeling better about myself. Hope to catch the band in New Orleans, if things work out.
  10. QUOTE (Mara @ Nov 29 2010, 08:59 AM) <mutter, mutter, gripe, whine, gripe, no Atlanta, gripe, bitch, piss, moan> Okay. I'm over it. Looks like it will probably be Greensboro, though I may wait to see what the rest of the year holds - perhaps Atl. will be added. I got spoiled on my 3rd row seat last time and so don't want to take lame seats in back. But I can't really justify travel costs AND another high-price ticket for the same tour. After expressing my early excitement over the Nashville date, I've thought it over. I might wait until the rest of the schedule is announced before making a committment -- unless someone is sure she wants to meet up with me in the Music City this time. If that's the case, then Nashville it is. It'd be nice to return to Atlanta since I had a great time at the show there in September. Kinda hoping for Memphis (only 90 miles from me) to show up on the upcoming leg, but I doubt it.
  11. Show the deceased some respect. Don't call him 'Shirley.'
  12. QUOTE (The Lost Xanadu @ Nov 22 2010, 08:34 PM) When you start singing the chorus of "In the Mood" at 7:45pm I heard 'In the Mood' and 'Nobody's Hero' on the radio for the first time yesterday. Thank you, Sirius/XM, for playing real classic rock. It puts to shame the half-dozen alledged classic rock FM stations heard in this radio market. You know you're a Rush fan when you occasionally update your Facebook status with Rush lyrics and the same 10 or so people click the 'Like' link each time. That's followed by someone clueless responding to the status, asking me if I'm on drugs.
  13. Dear cute blonde Zumba instructor who attends my church, You tempt me with your sexy smile and firm body, and I like it when you give me a tight, squeezing hug when I serve as a greeter. Everyone else gets only a handshake from me. Also, when you stand in front of me during the service, all my eyes want to do is check out your fine butt. I'm so bad. Sincerely, Your friendly dirty old man
  14. I haven't been on much since the Atlanta show. I could say I went through Rush burnout or my work has picked up. But to be honest, my life since then has turned into the Eagles' song "Take it Easy." I got a world of trouble on my mind.
  15. It's going to take a while for me to close the book on the Atlanta show and this tour. After posting photos on TRF and Facebook from the meetup, I'm starting to receive photos that were taken of my friend and I. I'm forwarding them to her. Still hoping to receive the pics of us with the Geddy lookalike. Sometime soon, I need to write a letter to the manager of the meetup spot thanking him for letting us hang out there before the show. To be honest, I don't think I'll ever get it out of my system. Too many special things happened that day.
  16. QUOTE (RASH 2112 @ Oct 2 2010, 10:25 AM) QUOTE He forgot because he's not as big a fan as you are. Exactly. We, as the fans, probably know their trivia better than they do. Welcome to TRF, Rash 2112. I also heard Rush play TCE on the Moving Pictures and Signals tours of 1981-82. But I have trouble remembering most of the '81 concert. Was it the drugs or my date that distracted me? I don't recall. The guys probably take a "Well, if you say so" approach to all the trivia and info fans tell them -- stuff they forgot about over time.
  17. There will be a meet-up at Champps, about a mile and a half from the amphitheater in Alpharetta. I plan to get there about 3:30 and will stay around 6-6:30 p.m. I also plan to stop by the Parking Lot A tailgater before getting settled in for the show. I'll be in Orch 2, Row T.
  18. Great shots....kudos on getting the chance to shoot it. I've thought about doing that, though it would be unusual for a reporter/photog from Tupelo, MS, - especially one with no previous clippings of concert coverage - to suddenly show up requesting credentials for an Atlanta concert. I could say I'm doing a feature on Rush and plan to localize it with comments from fans in my paper's circulation area. But knowing promoters and arena management like I do, they'd call BS on it and reject my request.
  19. Check your inbox. I've got two tickets with your name on them.
  20. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Sep 8 2010, 03:06 PM) When push comes to shove, "Tom Sawyer" is the greatest single thing Rush ever recorded and released. ReRushed is right...."Tom Sawyer" is the most recognized song by Rush by casual music fans. For most of them, TS is the only thing they know about Rush. For example, a few days ago a co-worker and I were talking about music, and I mentioned that I was a big fan of Rush. He didn't have a clue who I was talking about. Another co-worker heard our conversation and joined in. "Rush," he told the clueless one. "You know, Tom Sawyer." The clueless remembered the tune but not the band. "Oh, yeah. I know that song," he said.
  21. The Spirit of Radio yesterday afternoon while driving to work. I'm in listening range of five classic rock stations, so I hear Rush about every other day. One classic station plays "Caravan" along with other new songs by veteran bands.
  22. QUOTE (theredtamasrule @ Aug 28 2010, 03:54 PM) Deckiller's thread spurred me to take a look at Rush's songs and give 'em a ranking. So I made a quick spreadsheet and ran down each song giving it a score (from 1 - 10, 10 being the best). Interestingly this is the largest group with the same score. Here is a list of the songs that received a 10, I think from youngest to oldest: Anthem By Tor 2112 A Farewell to Kings Xanadu Hemispheres Circumstances The Trees La Villa Strangiato Spirit of Radio Freewill Jacob's Ladder Entre Nous Different Strings Natural Science Tom Sawyer Red Barchetta YYZ The Camera Eye Witch Hunt Vital Signs Distant Early Warning Afterimage Kid Gloves Red Lenses Between The Wheels The Big Money Marathon Middletown Dreams Mystic Rythyms Time Stand Still Open Secrets Prime Mover Lock and Key Mission High Water The Pass Ghost of a Chance Between Sun & Moon Alien Shore Test 4 Echo Earthshine Far Cry Armour & Sword Workin' Them Angels The Main Monkey Business The Way The Wind Blows Caravan BU2B There's no '10' on Signals?
