If I could travel back in time and go anywhere I wouldn't choose a Rush concert. I'd choose to see Jimi Hendrix open up for the Monkees. And it wouldn't be to watch Jimi either. It would be to watch the expression on the faces of the audience.

My first thought was Hemispheres, but the Permanent Waves setlist looks absolutely incredible.

If we could confirm The Fountain Of Lamneth live, I might have to go with the COS tour for a headliner show.

So, I'll flip a coin between COS and PeW. Can't go wrong with either.

Moving Pictures tour or late in the the tour just previous to it where they were cracking open 'new' songs from the upcoming MP album. I tell my wife that when I die< I'm going to try like hell to go back to that time and see it for myself. I have told her tha for years and then came the time machine tour with MP in its entirety....Im hoping that isn't some sort of sign that my days are numbered!

As big a Rush fan as I am, I think I'd rather go to Woodstock in my Time Machine than an old Rush show. I've seen Rush a dozen times (and hopefully will see them a dozen more), but I'll never get to be there at that once-in-a-lifetime historical concert without some help from H.G. Wells.

I don't care if it was the "Down the Tubes Tour"- I want to see it.

Actually, that would be a good one to go back and see, since we all know how things turned out. Tickets would be cheap, plenty of parking and good seats, no long lines at the restrooms, none of the usual hassles that go along with a big show. As long as we're careful not to create a paradox that alters the future, that would be cool...

Yup...Me too....I wanna see how bad things got for the boys.

But I would also like to have seen some of the really early shows on the 2.gif tour where there were only a few people in the crowd.

Oh yeah...and the R30 Tour...That was the best setlist I had ever seen.

I was lucky enough to see the Permanent Waves Warmup tour and the Moving Pictures Proper tour, arguably the best 2 tours of Rush's career. I'd give my left testicle to see either one of those tours again, but it would also have to be at that time as well, when Geddy could still shriek.

I'll still never forget seeing them both with long hair and using the double necks, and also seeing La Villa back in the day when they used dry ice on stage. Back in those days the artist wasn't overexposed. We had no videos, internet or easy access to media about the artist. So when you saw them live it was a very big deal. Concerts were a big deal back then and Bands had much more mystery around them back then.

Anyway, when I saw Rush the second time in 1981 and Alex came out with all his hair cut off and with that Red blazer on I remember thinking to myself, OMG he looks like such a Homo! Just like all the New Wave kids in my H.S. listening to all that New Wave crap like Flock of Seagulls. Back in those days there was the Rock N Roll crowd and the New wave crowd and you were either one group or the other, and the 2 groups hated each other. They still kicked ass though. Another interesting thing from that tour was I saw them in Chicago 13th row floor, and EVERYONE on the floor SAT for most of the show. I couldn't believe it! It was BIZARRE and I remember sitting down myself because I felt guilty standing while everyone else sat. Btw, I even noticed in 1981 that Geddy's voice was changing and that he could not shriek like he used to be able to.

Ah the memories. Can't wait to see them again in Boston.
