tripdad
Was driving to a movie when I heard The Scorpions cover (1989) of "I Can't Explain" by The Who released the song originally on January 15th, 1965. Xanadu93
I know it's blasphemy to his fans and all but... I love My Chemical Romance's reworking of Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row" that they did for the Watchmen soundtrack. And yes, I've heard both versions. (But they're not great at covering everyone - their cover of "Astro Zombies" by the Misfits is less than stellar.) Green Day's cover of "A Quick One While He's Away" that they did as a bonus track for 21st Century Breakdown was pretty good, too.
MCM
I love the Shaw/Blades cover of th 1975 hit by Orleans - Dance with Me - one of my favorite am radio hits back in the day. (I know - very cheezy song but I still love it)

GeddyRulz
I also prefer the Scorpion's version of "I Can't Explain" to the Who's. I like Pat Benatar's version of "Wuthering Heights" over Kate Bush's original. Metallica's "Stone Cold Crazy" is equal to Queen's. I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them right now. Later!
