QUOTE (Everyday Glory @ Feb 18 2010, 05:19 PM)
In the house where nobody laughs
And nobody sleeps
In the house where love lies dying
And the shadows creep
A little girl hides shaking,
With her hands on her ears
Pushing back the tears,
'Til the pain disappears

Mama says some ugly words
Daddy pounds the wall
They can fight about their little girl later
Right now they don't care at all

I missed the happy part in there, sorry.

You can't fault Everyday Glory for picking Everyday Glory.

No, I can see it in the pre (actual?) chorus. The "Everyday people, everyday shame" parts. Very powerful stuff. One of my favorites off Counterparts.

Rivendell is fairly uplifting, if it hasn't been mentioned already.

I'm compiling a play-list and want the happiest, most uplifting songs. What would you put there? The most cheerful only please! Thank you biggrin.gif

Musically it lifts me: HALF THE WORLD

Musically "How It Is" does as well. But the lyrics are such a downer.

I love Limelight, but I'm surprised to see it listed so many times when the OP asked for "happy Rush songs". While certainly not a downer, I don't see it as a "happy" song, what with all the "can't pretend a stranger is a long awaited friend" stuff.

Someone even listed "Freewill"! Hey, Freewill is a great song, but not what I would necessarily consider a "hapoy song" ("genetic blends, with uncertain ends, on a fortune hunt that's far too fleet"?). Not a depressing song certainly. Profound? Yes. But happy? Hmmm.... The guitar solo and melody have an uplifting vibe but the lyrics are not really best described as "happy".

Take A Friend is a happy song, as is Making Memories.

Cinderella Man possibly.

I would go with

Lakeside Park ,_ my most favorite song by them b/c of what it is saying

I Think I'm Going Bald (more funny than happy?)

and then what a lot of others have said

Well, there are many. But my favorite has alway's been.

Making Memories! 2.gif 653.gif

Nice. Always puts a smile on my face.

Well from sea to shining sea and a hundred points between

Still we go on diggin' ev'ry show

The cities in the land all extend a welcome hand

Till morning when it's time for us to go
