ReRushed
It's an obvious choice, as far as I'm concerned. With that said, guess who I chose!
Jaye
QUOTE (Spindrift82 @ Jan 11 2010, 02:23 PM)I think they're both phenomenal drummers. I can't choose between them. Same. This is one of the two 'Vs.' subjects were I've never been able to pick a 'side'. The other being Gabriel Vs. Collins. (An easy choice for most of course, but I love Phil just as much as Pete )
Rush Cocky
Hard choice, but I'd have to give the edge to Bruford.
PariahDog
On Yes's studio albums, I would say Bill Bruford. But for live Yes, I would probably say Alan White. He is the glue that holds them together through the twists and turns of the music. On Yes Symphonic, he seemed to navigate the band and orchestra through Gates of Delerium through sheer force of will. Of course, I've only seen Yes live with Bruford once, on the Union tour. I remember being very impressed, but it was many years ago.

Soni
QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Jan 11 2010, 05:34 AM) Yes with Bruford is magic. If only he would've stayed around for Tales... Bill knew they were going to make an album like Tales, and he didn't want to be part of that. He had done all he could do in yes, that's why he went to King Crimson. (and did the greatest trilogy ever )
Silas Lang
Better than the trilogy he had just been involved with? I don't think so.
Rushman14
tough pick but gotta go with Bruford because his drumming on the first UK album is plain sick.

noisorroCmrotS
Both are great drummers, and of course Mr. White has been in YES a lot longer than Bill. However saying that I think Bill Bruford is the best of these two drummers! What do you think? This is a lame comparison. Bruford's technique way out matches White's but that isn't the only thing that is important. White out matches Bruford's intensity on stage. They are 2 different musicians.

Soni
Better than the trilogy he had just been involved with? I don't think so.So it's Yes Album, Fragile and Close to The Edge VS Larks Tongues in Aspic, Starless and Bible Black and Red?IMO Yes can't touch King Crimson.
