GeddyLeeRoth
The first two Rush albums Peter Collins co-produced with the band (later he came back for Counterparts and Test For Echo) are sister albums, showing us a distinct style Rush fully displayed on these two albums alone. I know which I like best. How bout you guys?
Blenderhead
Power Windows. I simply like the songs better.
Steevo
Power Windows much more.
Willow
A Close call...but Hold Your Fire for me...just
GeddyRulz
Close for me, too. I've always gone with Hold Your Fire, but finally woke up to the greatness of PoW about seven years ago. I'll still have to pick HYF, but just barely. (And something tells me it'll need every vote it can get.)
TheWater
One more vote for HYF. Â Maybe it's because someone I don't like calls PoW his favourite album... but maybe it's more because when I listened to PoW for the first time I really didn't get why so many people consider it THE masterpiece. I like HYF and many other albums (including the debut ) much more.
Xanadu93
Power Windows, my second-favorite Rush record (behind Permanent Waves). It's got great sound, excellent basslines from Geddy ("Middletown Dreams"), crazy instrumental breakdowns ("Marathon" and "Emotion Detector"), and awesome-sounding keyboards. Sonatine
Almost too close to call, but went with PW, if only because I love the opening salvo, Big Money followed by Grand Designs
Stormtron
Power Windows. Excellent production.
VarianStar
Power Windows for me. It's up there in my top 5 Rush albums. The music on it is so grand and majestic and I love every song. HYF has a few that I just don't really care for.
ILSnwdog
Power Windows, and it isn't even close.
greg2112
Not a huge fan of either album, but by virtue of the great songs Big Money and Middletown Dreams, Power Windows easily wins this battle.
Rush Cocky
QUOTE (Steevo @ Sep 11 2009, 12:15 AM) Power Windows much more. Power Windows by a country mile.
rushfanNlv
Power Windows based on guitars and songs. Both are great though. It was hard to decide.
Merely Space
Power Windows is one of my favorite albums. Hold Your Fire is one of my least favorite Rush albums.
MrHands
IMO, both great records, but PW gets the nod.
mankad89
I like both albums about equally, and I agree HYF will need every vote it can get, so I'll go with it.
Nootch
I voted for Power Windows but it was close. By the diameter of a hair close. I love both albums and came at a time when Rush wasn't as squarely on my radar.
Ghost of a Rider
Power Windows. It happens to be my favorite album too. It had a large impact on me because it was the first album by anyone where I loved every damn song on it "From first to last..."
PariahDog
VERY close call, but I'd say Power Windows.  Looking at the best tracks of each, it's a tie... The Big Money Grand Designs Manhattan Project Marathon Territories Middletown Dreams Mystic Rhythms vs. Force Ten Time Stand Still Open Secrets Second Nature Prime Mover Mission Turn the Page  But factoring in the rest, I'd give the edge to PW... Emotion Detector vs. Lock and Key Tai Shan High Water
PuppetKing2112
Love both, but Power Windows wins easily for me.
goose
Caress of Steel. Everything after that is too commercial.                 PW.
MCM
HYF for me, I love the whole album. I do love Power Windows, but my dislike of The Big Money really keeps it out of rotation.
2112Starman
Imma have to say Power Windows on this one. I just like the songs a lot better.
