StuartBruce
Morning all .. I was just browsing the RUSH backstage merchandise store while I was waiting for my Sunday morning porn to download and I was struck at how naff, cheesy and utterly unwearable most of the tops are. Given the powerful iconography they own, Starman, Egg & Clamp, Kings, Waves, Windows .. and so on, I would have expected .. better!?! I have only ever purchased one top from here, a variation on the R30, because it was a great design. Understated. Only other Rush fans would know what it was. But the rest are tacky album cover prints and those I might wear, Kings, 2112, Power Windows are only in baby sizes. 36" chest. I was bigger than that when I went to see them in 1981. And I still have the MP T-Shirt. Does anyone have a better Rush T-Shirt site? Design? Gotta go, porn is ready ..

greg2112
They should stick with classic reproductions of the original tourshirts (with a vintage spin from time to time - see the new MP one). One they should bring back is the classic new world tour design. that signals euro tourshirt is just plain ugly.

Mara
Some are OK, I agree. Concert merchandise in general tends to fall short of the high-fashion mark. At least the fabrics are higher quality now. For a long time it was some kind of gagsome blend that was hot, itchy, and just felt cheap.
GeddyRulz
I think the T-shirts are pretty good, especially the "starman" and classic album designs. The jackets all have to go, especially anything that's too shiny. Another thing: When I wear a Rush shirt, I want others to KNOW it's a Rush shirt. Having nothing on the shirt but "R30" doesn't cut it; that would go over most people's heads, and they wouldn't know it was Rush. I want the shirt to say "RUSH" in big letters and/or have a starman on it, or something.

Too many people these days think it's Rush Limbaugh. No, not "RUSH" all by itself. Check out what I wore when I met Ged and Al: the band's recognizable starman logo, plus "Rush" in fairly large letters. If the other person is at all familiar with classic rock, he knows what my shirt means. I get one to three comments on this shirt everytime I wear it. mankad89
I've scoured the Internet for a good, solid RUSH shirt to serve as a sort of conversation starter for other fans, and I keep coming back to the standard 2112 shirt. It has the red star, the 2112, and "RUSH" in pretty big letters against a starry background. It's one of the few shirts of theirs that isn't too cheesy to wear in public. I think 2112 is slightly overrated and Signals is my favorite album, but I refuse to wear a shirt that has a dog sniffing a fire hydrant. I also refuse to wear a shirt that has a naked man's ass on the front. So this was the logical choice.

Mara
I'd love to know how many of those jackets have sold. Probably some collectors (with more money than sense)bought one just to add to the "Rush collection room".
Rushgirl
Being a complete completist for all things RUSH, I have all the shirts, plus I have the R30 Leather Jacket. Skipped the S&A one in favour of upgrading seats to shows whenever I could!! Can't please all the people all the time, and some of the shirts are not the greatest, but I enjoy them
Atomic
I've always felt their merch was weak... like for 30 years. The only merch I have bought over the years were concert Ts from the Permanent Waves tour, the Moving Pictures and the Signals tours and then one from S &A. That's not much merch purchased in 17 concerts attended since 1980. Why? cuz their merch sucks. At least, as previously mentioned, the quality is better. But you'd think they could get some better graphic designs. Also think NEP wearing the S &A logo... everywhere... is over the top nerdy.

Unfortunately, it is surely NOT worth the $500 that they are charging for it. All these years later, and they haven't brought the price down even a bit yet. That's ridiculous really.
