What Are We Drinking Tonight??

Last night -> Michelob Amber Bock (2 bucks on tap at a bar?!), then at a party, I had a couple Blue Moons, then by that time we were playing drinking games, so I was drinking Coors Original...which is probably the best domestic pansy beer. Then at the casino a jack and coke then a whiskey sour.

Tonight -> Rising Moon...got it out of curiosity, not bad, but could do without the limey flavor.

Another amaretto tonight. This is the bottle:

The brand is Amaretto di Portofino. We got the bottle as a gift from someone who traveled abroad. I don't think they sell it here in the States. Kind of like the Portugese liqueur amarguinha which is very similar to amaretto, and I have yet to see anywhere in Chicago.

Well, it was an interesting day. Had a Sam Adams on the ski hill; an off brand chardonnay with appetizers at dinner; a nice bottle of Rodney Strong Private Reserve cabernet with the main course; Gran Marnier as a night cap.

Should sleep well tonight!

Dogfish Head Chicory Stout. First time I've tried it. Not bad, but not my favorite either.

That might work with some beignets.

Not a bad idea!

"Wild Blue" Blueberry Lager, by the Blue Dawg Brewing co. out of Baldwinsville, NY.

Found this in the local Ingles today while doing my weekly grocery shopping. Weird sort of beer: a High Gravity Blueberry Lager (8% alcohol). So exotic sounding I had to give it a try. That plus I feel obligated to purchase new High Gravity beer that I find in that grocery store in order to encourage them to stock up on more High Gravities.

About to finish my second one now, but all it took was the very first taste to peg this so-called "beer".

It doesn't taste like a beer at all, but instead very much like a wine cooler with a strong blueberry flavor.

That's okay. I can dig wine coolers, especially 8% alcohol ones wink.gif
