  1. Sorry it took something like this for some of us to come back to TRF. I had heard the rumors that Neil was ill. So I guess I’m not so shocked.....just very very sad. All the memories around the Rush concerts, the “Cons”, the preshow meetups, singing along with other fans, the friendships that have been made....all swimming around in my head and the tears flowing this morning. He will be missed.
  2. Had a blast! You're going to love it. I have tickets to see them in New Jersey next month, but I don't think I'm going to make it up there to see the show.
  3. Yeah...it was! Were you there?
  4. I know it's not Friday yet...I just wish it was! Glad to see this thread still hanging on...by a thread.
  5. Hey all! Thanks for the warm welcome back. The show was awesome. For a bunch of old guys, they sure do know how to tear the roof off the place. The crowd was into it from the get-go. Packed house. The stage show was top notch as always. The setlist had something for everyone. Won't spoil it for those of you who haven't seen the show and want to stay in the dark on the setlist. You won't be disappointed! I've only popped in here a few times over the last few years. Lots has happened in my life. I'm living in Dallas now. Took a job with JP Morgan. I got divorced a couple of years ago. So, I'm onto a new chapter. Enjoying life here in Dallas. I'm still making my famous BBQ clams (hence my Mollusk Man from Mandrake moniker ). How are y'all doin'? (see what I did there?)
  6. So...Hello! Going to the Rush concert tonight in Dallas. Thought I'd stop by to say hello to those who know me....and to some that don't. Should be a fun time tonight!
  7. I don't think I'll ever get to 15,000 posts. Looooong way to go...
  8. Sheeit...Mr. IsNot did that in about a week. whoa
  9. It's been a long time since I've been on here, and wanted to take this opportunity to apologize to someone on here. I figured I could create a thread for people to apologize "anonymously", to just get it out of their system without involving others, or perhaps say sorry for all to see. Use this thread as you see fit. So, I'll start. To the person I used to talk to frequently (you know who you are), I'm sorry. My behavior was totally inappropriate and out of line. It's been hanging over my head for some time, and wanted to let you know that I realize I was wrong.
  10. Ok...so I have some info on the radio stations. Anyone know where I can find a good BBQ place?
  11. Happy birthday Amanda! I already got you on FB but figured it would be cool to say it here too.
  12. Any advice for someone coming down from the NY / NJ area? Also thought we might be able to meet up and say hello!
  13. I'm rarely on TRF anymore either. Not that anyone noticed me in the first place I come on here to read about what people think of the latest Rush news, music or concerts. I occasionally comment from time to time. What has lasted over the years are the friendships I've established with some of the TRF members. In fact, I'm going to see a few of you guys this weekend (not mentioning names to protect the innocent...and guilty for that matter). Some, I haven't seen in years. It's great that this forum still exists, and gives me a place to find like-minded people (and some no-so-likeminded people)
  14. Merry Christmas all! I haven't been around here much lately. Lots of things going on in my life. I just wanted to stop by and wish all my Rush fan friends a Merry Christmas. Enjoy...
  15. Love the new live album. Although I do have to admit that I'm a little disappointed. I had heard that the Radio City show was being recorded for a live album. I was at that show, and the set list was abso-fricken-lutely amazing. When Steven Wilson was back in NYC last year promoting his new solo album, I got in line at J&R Music World to have his CD autographed. So, I stepped up to the table, shook his hand, told him I was a big fan of his music. He thanked me. I then asked him if the Radio City show was going to be released as a live album, and he said no...that it sounded like shite. He apologized and said that they will be releasing something from that tour. So, this is it. I'm glad it's something, but when I think about what it could have been, I can't help but be disappointed.
  16. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 15 2012, 08:32 AM) http://www.myfoxsideline.com/video Make sure you see "Week 3, Segment 7." Fast-forward to 3:10. My son was on TV, playing the vibes in his high school band. He's the last guy you see before it cuts to the actual football nonsense. Pretty much made this proud mom's whole week. That's awesome!
  17. You know what I love about this setlist? It's the fact that it's RUSH on stage playing it. I've said this before and I'll say it again. Sometimes we forget that Rush was nearly done as a band. And aside from Neil's tragedies, the longevity of this band is extremely rare. We should be thankful that this band is still making music and giving us a different look every time they come out. You never know what to expect from this band. It's always fresh. The naysayers and negative Nellies have every right to complain. But, just keep in mind that you're complaining about the icing on the cake being whipped cream instead of butter cream. Just enjoy the damn cake!
  18. I wish they would release the recording of the show they did at Radio City in NYC. I was at the show, and the setlist was unbelievable. I asked Steven Wilson at his appearance at J&R in NYC if they were going to release the recording, and he said, "No...sorry. I listened to the recording, and it sounded like shit."
  19. There is just something about Friday that makes me feel better. Oh yeah! It's the start of the weekend! Duh! Have a great one folks...
  20. Just listened to the album for the first time..... WOW I have to admit, I was a bit pessimistic about this album impressing me. But, they certainly put out an great collection of songs on this album. I like it much better than S&A.
