Yoko Ono's voice.....if your dog was making those noises, you'd take it out back and shoot it.

So anyway, what did you guys think of Steve's arrangement of "Death of Samantha"? biggrin.gif

???? What?

BTW...there is an obscure PT song called Meantime out there on the Net. It sounds nothing like PT.

laugh.gif I was waiting for someone else to ask that. What???? laugh.gif

I've seen Meantime on the website, but haven't listened.

Have you had a chance to listen to the samples of NSRGTS RMXS?

Sorry, you lost me on that one. The Yoko project, no? unsure.gif Anyways, it wasn't THAT bad really, considering her *ahem* history biggrin.gif

Sue, I had a chance to nab NSRGNTS RMXS, signed as well but....ummmmmmm no laugh.gif

http://www.amazon.com/Death-Of-Samantha/dp/B000TE0OKI

What the....????!!!! huh.gif

unsure.gif

That's kind of weird. Dont' you think that's kind of weird? laugh.gif

I would never in a million years imagine an association of the two. I won't say too much about it, as I have a certain amount of respect for Yoko Ono. But, um... some "sounds" should not be recorded. Ever. That is all I have to say.

Yoko Ono's voice.....if your dog was making those noises, you'd take it out back and shoot it.

Ahhh, finally, just wanted an explanation. No, that was what I said in my original post, her history is awful but that was exceptionally tolerable. And no, I am not gonna dash out and buy/download it because it has Steve's name on it, but I was pleasantly surprised I wasn't blowing chunks upon first listen. Its always interesting to see what he has tinkered with, WHOEVER it is, who cares.

I'll try not to mention her name around these parts again guys unsure.gif laugh.gif

Currently enjoying this song: Arriving Somewhere But Not Here

Probably their best song. One of my all time favorite songs, period.

Live version is the best!

Yeah I agree with this.

Probably the best example of their overall sound.

Yep, definitely one of their very best.

Listened/watched twice.

I really, really liked it. I think I'm hooked...

So, if I'm going to buy one PT album to start, what should it be? I'm going to look for the DVD also.

"Arriving Somewhere" is from Deadwing, which is an outstanding CD. I'd suggest starting either there or with In Absentia, the release before Deadwing.

Yay! I'm glad you're getting into them, Belle. You'll love them. new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Girl, I've been trying to get everyone I know into them. I think my kids know about as much about Porcupine Tree as they do about Rush. That's saying alot.

PT really got me listening prog music again and in a different way. I consider them modern prog...at least after In-Absentia.. The period before is bit pshychedelic floydish...nice though.

I see them in 3 weeks live..can't wait. They have been my fav since 2001 (in-absentia came out)... luv them.

Also check out S.W. other projects - Blackfield, No-man, Opeth (another top band...).. S.W. has also been working on King Crimson remasters..Everything he does is gold!!..simple.
