Nah never had an Ipod and probably never will.

I D/L albums to check them out...and buy the ones that are worthy...no different than listening to radio or whatever but I choose my own "programming" rather than put up with shit shoved down everyone's throats thru radio and tv.

But that's for another thread lol

I will be holding out for The Incident though 1022.gif

I should also add that the DTS  version of "In Absentia" has three bonus tracks:

Drown With Me
Choloform
Futile

"Futile" is killer. Haven't heard the others yet as I'm a new PT recruit, but I will. I don't think I can play DVD-A on my gear, though.

I can't play DVD-A either, and I have the bonus disk of Stupid Dream with the full 14-minute version of Even Less and the 5.1 mix of Ambulance Chasing being held captive on it. It pisses me off that I can't play it. angry.gif

What exactly does one need to be able to play a DVD-A?

any dvd or bluray player should work

I have an iPod... but I still buy on CD than transfer over...

1. I still like to have tangible media..

2. Face it... mp3s are very inferior audio... but it works for the car or an ipod dock which is where i do most of my music listening.......but If I ever want the full quality........ I have a decent stereo.... and the CD right at my fingertips...including several 5.1 releases.

You da man! 1022.gif

I agree with everything you have said.

Hey take it from me, by now you probably know that I'm an audiophile junky.

Ipods are good for the car though. The aluminum frisbee won't get scratched or smudged.

Oh and I guess if I were to go on a long vacation perhaps to Hawaii or something it would be smart to burn my cds onto an Ipod so the actual cd stays home in it's mint condition jewel case!

Cheers!

Not to mention, reading liner notes is where it is at while you are listening.

Well, not any DVD player. Not, my DVD player. And, bluray?

Phht. When I win the lottery maybe. I'm SOL, aren't I? sad.gif

I've been really into Open Car the past couple days, but didn't look into lyrics until now. Is that about falling in love with a hooker?

An affair, but I don't know if it's with a hooker. You'll have to ask Steven Wilson about that. laugh.gif

That never dawned on me. I need to read the lyrics.

Listened to Lightbulb Sun twice today. Awesome album. Best three tracks in a row is on that CD.

*Last Chance

It's probably just about an affair, but it could be about a hooker too...

"Here is the sin, something to lie about" - Why is it a sin, and why does he have to lie about it?

Anyway, great song!

I just had my wisdom teeth out today so I think I'm going to take one of my Vicodin and listen to the new album. Maybe PT will finally click with me. I listened to Signified on a plane ride the other day and I liked it but I'm waiting for the right circumstances to get blown away by them. Edited by PuppetKing2112

That was a cool moment too. And it was cool that they kept all that in. Steven was on the ball after he got the new guitar handed to him -- he asked where he was standing before the string broke, then he got the crowd to start cheering again. That gave the video editor the option to cut out that whole section and make it like the string break never happened. But they kept it all in anyway! laugh.gif

So I'm hearing that The Incident is positively awful & derivative.....

Really? I listened to the first few tracks tonight and thought it sounded pretty good. But then again, I'm not an expert on PT so I can't compare it to their other stuff.

Well I haven't heard it yet myself, but all over RYM everyone's saying it's one of the worst releases from PT.

A lot of 1 & 2-star ratings, & negative reviews coming from there.

I think I may want to find a torrent for it first.

That is not good. If it is the case, it would be no surprise as SW has been spreading himself very thin the last few years.

edit: Actually it is averaging 3.41 right now. I will have more faith in the rating at Progarchives, but regardless, if I like it, that is all that matters.

SW interview can be found here:

http://www.thedividingline.com/to.html

Listen to show #122 and the interview begins right after Yes's Starship Trooper.

He talks quite a bit about the new album.

Wow. Reading that made my heart sink. But, this is how I look at it: If it's better than The Sky Moves Sideways, it is most definitely not their worst. I'm still hyped for it to come out.
