The Owl
QUOTE (Slime @ Jul 17 2007, 04:42 PM) source? http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/books/07/1...s.ap/index.html This is just one of many sources, but the publishers claim that diffrent torrent sites claim of the real book conflict with that of other torrent sites, so there is some real, and some fake spoliers out there
Slime
Spoilers are easy enough to avoid if you take special care. Going to a midnight party? Bring headphones (I suggested this to a friend who was afraid of the "drive-by spoiler" done for the last book by some people). On the net? Avoid any news sites and fan sites. You could also just not use the internet, which isn't so hard to do. Some of the news sites have been rather careless in their reporting of the spoilers, as I've seen it, with some naming names in such a way as to give away too much. PuppetKing2112
If anybody tells me ANYTHING before I read the book, I will hunt them down and kill them. Listening to albums when they leak is one thing, but WHO THE f**k reads a book off a PDF?

Listening to albums when they leak is one thing, but WHO THE f**k reads a book off a PDF? I said the same thing last night...there's nothing like having the book in your hands, so you can curl up and lose yourself in it... Squinting at a computer monitor and scrolling through? Pffft. ILSnwdog
My wife and I are going to lose so much sleep when this book comes out. We are going to have some much trouble putting it down at night and getting to sleep at a reasonable hour!

madra sneachta
Three and a half hours before I get it. I have a feeling that Snape and Neville are going to be central to this. Part of me thinks Snape will "take a bullet" for Harry, in reparation for his past sins. Another part of me thinks Harry will do somethng to make up for the way his dad and Sirius treated Snape when they were in Hogwarts. A showdown between Neville and Bellatrix seems inevitable. However, I predict the most incredible and unexpected part of this book will be that Ron casts a spell with no help from anyone that does exactly what it i supposed to do without any undesired or unforeseen side effects or consequences. Cue Graham Chapman - "Now this is getting too silly".

KublaKhan
Just got it a couple of hours ago, and i'm on page 50-something. Its pretty good so far, especially the last chapter I read. I'll probably have it read by the end of summer (I'm not one of those "Read it in the first night/day" freaks, no offence to the people that do that sort of thing). Either that or while i'm away in August. In a bathroom in a hotel. thats how I finished the 6th one. Promises to be a good book. Can't wait to get further into it. Oh, and PK, I made the same ending prediction as you (The "They both kill each other at the same time" theory) after I finished the Goblet of Fire. priest_of_syrinx
I always take the jacket off while I'm reading so it doesn't get wrecked. I'm just starting chapter 7. I want to constantly read it, but yet I want to savor it because it's the last one...

Kudzu
I read it in under four hours. I now have a headache. I won't post spoilers, but I liked it, and I was impressed by the way the character arcs were resolved.
