  1. QUOTE (Hemispheres89 @ Jul 18 2010, 02:21 AM) 1. A lady behind me tapped my shoulder and asked me to sit down when the show first started. I didn't have someone ask me to sit down, but I felt the eyes of the people behind me upon me, so I sat down after a few songs, even though I would have stood up for the whole damn thing. But, during the solo section of Freewill I basically said screw it and stood up and jammed. Also, I saw everyone in the ACC jump during the Marathon explosion. Fun times.
  2. QUOTE (Alex @ Jul 18 2010, 08:48 PM) There were actually a few problems at ACC. Neil couldn't play the beginning morse code of YYZ awesomeley because his sound cut. I noticed this aswell. I looked at my buddy funnily when it happened. But, still a mindblowing concert.
  3. Heard them this morning via Youtube, as apparently you have to be american to buy it from amazon... Anyway, I'm liking them a lot so far. I'm expecting this album to be even better than S&A, which I thought was for the most part a very good album. I love the middle section in Caravan, and that opening riff to BU2B is friggin great. I don't even think the lyrics for BU2B are as bad as i'd thought they might be. It seems Neil has learned to express what he felt on S&A and make it work a little better. Definitely gonna be cool to hear these live this summer aswell. This new album's off to a great start already
  4. Fair Warning is definitely their best album. I was originally drawn to it due to Unchained, which is probably my favorite Van Halen song, but the other songs are figgin' amazing too. Mean Street is probably my second favorite Van Halen song, just because its so awesome. Even stuff like Hear About It Later and Sinner's Swing are pretty awesome too. If I had to put the 6 DLR albums in order: 1. Fair Warning - See Above for why its so great. 2. Van Halen I - One Good Song After Another 3. 1984 - One of Those Great Albums That You Just Never Get Tired Of (Even though it has Jump on it) 4. Women and Children First - Every Body Wants Some!! 'Nuff said. 5. Diver Down - Should Probably suck, with all the filler/covers, but the original songs (and even some of the covers) are so good, that I can't help but like it. 6. Van Halen II - Has some great songs (Light up the Sky, which is probably the best song on the album), don't get me wrong, but on the whole its a weaker album than the others.
  5. I saw it with a couple of friends a couple of hours ago, and I have to say that I really didn't like it all that much. I really don't know why either. I'm really at a loss for words. I guess I was just really disappointed. I guess I expected something a lot better.
  6. Alan Parsons Project - Tales of Mystery and Imagination Black Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy ELP - Welcome Back My Friends to the Show the Never Ends ELP - Works Volume 1 Genesis - Nursery Cryme Genesis - Foxtrot King Crimson - In the Wake of Poseidon Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy Led Zeppelin - Presence Van Halen - Women and Children First Van Halen - Diver Down The Who - Tommy Yes - Yes
  7. Holy shit... i can't believe this happened! How long ago did it happen? How long did I go without knowing he was gone? I listened to the first album a couple of days ago. Kinda coincidental. Rush would definitely not be the band it is today without John. Thank you John for making the first album so good. you will be missed by me every time I hear the first album from now on.
  8. I only learned this 2 seconds ago, and I almost had a heart attack. I can honestly say he's my favorite actor. Planet of the Apes really changed my life. It is and will always be my favorite movie. Charlton's acting was awesome in that movie. He will be dearly missed by me. I heard he hasn't been doing so good in the past couple of years, so I hope he's somewhere happier.
  9. I will choose Freewill. I bet you all saw that one coming.
  10. If you don't vote for Xanadu.... I wont do anything. But it should lose... I mean win... i mean...
  11. Tears is the worst song from 2112.
  12. QUOTE (KublaKhan @ Aug 20 2007, 04:46 PM) On vacaton. bought as many CD's as my parents would allow: Stand Up - Jethro Tull The Yes Album - Yes Paradise Theatre - Styx Emerson Lake & Palmer - Emerson Lake & Palmer Paranoid - Black Sabbath Led Zeppelin II - Led Zeppelin Red - King Crimson Ummagumma (finally!) - Pink Floyd Saw Hot Rats, but my folks wouldnt let me buy it because it was 18.99... I almost couldnt get Red because it was 16.99. Ok, so Ummagumma had 2 studio albums instead of a live one, so i took it back and got store credit, whihc i used to buy: Hot Rats - Frank Zappa The Grand Illusion - Styx

  17. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 1 2007, 07:08 PM) Attention All Planets of the Solar Federation: I will be having a show tomorrow. They say they've made some upgrades at the studio, so I'm gonna do a show and see how it goes. Feedback about connections and sound quality will be appreciated. Peace & Love, Gary Yeah! The return of The Interdimentional Vortex! I missed the show dearly for two weeks. I wasn't getting my weekly dose of wierd music. Thankfully i bought like 7 CDs last week, which has been tiding me over. And apparantly I missed the "i'm not doing it for a few weeks" memo, because i came on two thursdays ago, and no one was there. They were playing some sort of sound-effect laden song, though. I'll try to be there at the start. Big Brother is on when it starts, but they don't kick someone off until the end, so i'll leave like 20 minutes before BB ends, just to see whos out and who gets HoH. Then i'll be back. can't wait for the show!
  18. Hope. my least favorite song from the album. Oh, and dude, thanks for taking over. I'll take over at some point... Oh, and people, One Little Victory won VT, so the Winners Circle is: Finding My Way, By-Tor and the Snowdog, The Fountain of Lamneth, 2112, Xanadu, La Villa Strangiato, Natural Science, Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions, The Enemy Within, Marathon, Mission, The Pass, Dreamline, Leave That Thing Alone, Test For Echo, One Little Victory So, once S&A is over, unless Rush puts out another record before its done, the next thing will be the All Star sort of thing.
  19. Bastille Day. The Necromancer is the next to go.
  20. ^^^ Is apparently obsessed with a guy named Dougie.

  22. QUOTE (Faithless @ Jul 10 2007, 09:17 PM) It's the only program I watch on network TV. Besides Big Brother, Survivor and The Amazing Race, plus the odd episode of Robot Chicken, or any other show that comes on The Detour, Its also the only thing I watch. Oh, and the next season premier looks awesome. Are they going to air it as the one hour, or will they air it as two episodes? It'd be better if they just aired it as one hour. The preview was pretty cool. I saw it a couple of weeks ago whilst searching wikipedia.
  23. QUOTE (Fridge @ Jul 17 2007, 07:38 AM) QUOTE (KublaKhan @ Jul 17 2007, 12:37 PM) ^^^ Shut up.... Hey, dude, you got 1800 posts! cool. ^^^ No I don't ^^^ Dammit. Is wierder than Frank Zappa!
