I give it 8. What kicks for me is that it sounds a bit fresh and new, possible due to the Rush nods. Also very good to finally hear Myung again. Cool Alexesque solo in Surrender to Reason. When the band kicks in on Behind the Veil kicks it is übercool! I also like Mangini on this album.

This is VT in a completely new light! What a positive surprise! I guess all the polls must be remade.....

I too thought abort Rush references at first listen. The album oozes with Rush references. I never warmed much to adtoe but this I feel will stand the sands of time much better! I am 100% sure that the symphonic part in illumination theory are nicked from some film music. It sounds so familiar. I am thinking sailboats etc.

Av ha ha ha....Great one! :) The remix/remaster sounds great! Much more details available, allowing the better part some light. I thought it was the guitar that was the main troublemaker. Sounds like the base sound is also very growly.

Try to enter Dream Theatre snippets in youtube. It should be A couple. Enigma Machine and illumination theory. Cirka 2 minutes of each! It could be fake. If it is I would like to kone the names on those bands! If They are real it sounds like Rudess has gotten A more important role in DT. I hope They are real, it would be A Nice move for DT to get A bit more symphonic again.

Finally! I hope this will be better than the Retrospective remix. It was better but still painful to listen to. Many of the songs are Great though, good or bad sound.

Not sure what to think. After A couple of listenings I am indifferent to this trakk. The other 2 snippets sounded much more interesting though. I have A tikket to DT on February 21st. It will be my first evening with DT! :)
