I like the Cranberries' first album. I bought it the same time I bought Counterparts and played that more than CP.

I like Clannad and the first 3 albums by Enya. I guess I don't know. Again, early U2 (Boy - Unforgettable Fire)

yes.gif I agree.

A lot of people would go up to "Joshua Tree," but not me. It stops at "Unforgettable Fire."

I enjoy Unforgettable fire more of the art rock atmospheric side of U2, a Sort Of Homecoming pure poetry. But always thought most of the songs from this album translated better live then original studio recording. (If that makes any sense! wacko.gif laugh.gif )

Often wondered how different October would of been if Bono's original song lyrics and idea's for that album were not stolen. Which I believe they were returned to him not to long ago. Still like that album very spiritual in focus.

ohmy.gif Wheres The Cranberries?
Pretty sure all the members are 100% authentic Irish! tongue.gif

As a nation, we collectively decided to write the Cranberries out of Irish musical history. It was the decent thing to do, putting the poor lambs out of their misery, thus reducing ours.

No Achtung Baby? Try that one, it sounds completely different from any of their earlier work.

That's its problem. The early stuff was terrific; not so much on the later stuff, save a song here or there.

Actung Baby is solid, they start to get sporadic with Zooropa.Theres one great song Stay(Faraway So Close!) but generally average left over experiment from Actung Baby. The Wanderer kinda cool with Johnny Cash. U2 was null and void with me when Pop /Poop? came out tongue.gif new_thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif 062802puke_prv.gif The last U2 I purchased was All that you can't leave behind it's a good album but don't listen to it as much as the earlier stuff, boy up to Joshua Tree. Well, it is St. Patrick's Day! We NEED to knock Bono off his perch, too few votes for Lizzy & Rory!!!

Thin Lizzy... very definitely. 1022.gif

World-class rock band no matter the heritage.

However... I think the Frames really deserve mention. I found out about then because my wife loves them (... she's Irish. tongue.gif wub.gif ) But if you've ever seen them live... damn. They're a folkish band who rocks harder than any folk/songwriter band has a right to. They put on one hell of a show. Totally entertaining on many counts.

Check them out.

My top four are:

1) U2

2) Thin Lizzy

3) Van Morrison

4) Rory Gallagher

Doesn't matter if the Edge was born in England,

He's Irish thru and thru!

I think another good Irish band name would be Eire.

There used to be a band from Northern Ireland called Eire Apparent. Henry McCullough(Wings & Grease Band) was in it.

Jimi Hendrix produced their one and only album.
