Your best PRODUCED Rush album, best sound clarity

Production techniques generally are getting better but does this mean better produced albums? Which Rush album has the best, clearest, truest, sharpest production?

Power Windows for me....razor sharp clarity.

There is ample separation of every instrument and a feeling of space and presence.

I was gonna say Moving Pictures, but Counterparts takes the edge. Neil's bass drum just plain rocks, which, in addition to the bold guitar, solid bass, and clear vocals, makes for one great sounding album.

PoW is a good sounding album, but if you think it's is the best produced album you've ever heard, you ain't heard nothin' yet. You need to check out Sting's Ten Summoner's Tales or Steely Dan's Two Against Nature. That Dan CD is audiophile demo material. Makes PoW sound like Vapor Trails.

 

Back to Rush...I'll take Counterparts. Clear production with nice seperation, yet it's warm and organic sounding.

Yes, All Sting albums are sonically perfect, and of course All Steely Dan albums are recording masterpeices. Your hard pressed to find anything that was recorded as well as Two Against Nature.

I see Power Windows is winning and I agree it is awsome. But man!! It sure is hard to beat the crisp drums, thumping bass, beautiful keyboards and crying guitar riffs on Moving Pictures.
