I remember the girls in my junior high classes swooning over the exploits of Illya Kuryakin.

RIP, David.

This one made me feel old! When we were in grade school, everyone (boys too!) thought he was so cool as Illya Kuryakin. (My older neighbor Mark had his poster up for years.) I loved him on NCIS as the still cool coroner. :rose:. RIP, David.

I can still remember the tune from Colditz! Robert Wagner was in it too! Here's the theme tune:

Lot 3259 - A Lonestar The Man from UNCLE attaché case

Christmas 1965 (or thereabouts!) I got this from Santa!

The Man From Uncle was huge at the time  and I thought I was super cool as an Uncle agent! This would have been my first memories of David McCallum.

He has had a long and wonderfully varied career both in cinema and on TV.

My missus is a big fan of NCIS and loved his "Ducky" character.

RIP David.

Awww. I had a little crush on the guy. It's easy to love men who seem intelligent.

On to the next adventure my man! 90 years is a good long run.

That's really awesome!  In my neighborhood we made our own triangle badges.

Solo:  Illya, are you free?

Kuryakin:  No man is free who works for a living....but I'm available.

Because I had the 'proper' badge, I was the top agent in our little gang lol! Simpler times!

On a less serious note, his work on that "NCIS" TV show did help people understand the professionals who work in lab settings- they have to be very meticulous and careful.

Godspeed sir!

I loved The Man from U.N.C.L.E when I was a kid. Sapphire and Steel was good too.

S&S was an amazing show...Tomorrow People, Dr Who and S&S I watched religiously as a kid :rose:

This hit me hard. David McCallum was my first celebrity crush 60 years ago and I've loved him ever since. My best friend and I started a Man From U.N.C.L.E. fan club in our tiny Missouri farm town.....we gave a nod to Napoleon Solo but it was really all about Agent #2 Illya Kuryakin.
