Rush-Snakes and Arrows (7/10)

I debated on 7 or 8.  i settled on 7 because the first 7 songs on this record are top notch (far Cry-The Way The Way The Wind Blows)  unfortunatly there was more to come and it never lives up to the first half.

Also Very ham fisted preachy lyrics.  i understand why this turned some fans away.

For as praised as neil was lyrically.  His later stuff.  when it was bad it was kinda embarrassing.

It's why later period Rush doesn't get much play.  that and their melodic sense sort of diminished. i'm revising later period just to see if my views changed and well they had gems over the whole discography.  Later rush is by far my least fav.

I enjoy much of it but the melodic side definitely evolved...not in the best way

Muse - Will Of The People

I really enjoyed this. It starts off a little unassuming, but by side two it’s really fantastic.

Porcupine Tree - Deadwing

Le Orme - Felona E Sorona

Trust me when I tell you these albums are just as good as each other. Italian prog rules. Goodness sakes check it out.

My fave Italian prog is YS (1972), by Il Balletto di Bronzo. Familiar?

If not, try the track "Epilogo."
