I was, Also ground beef is getting really expensive as well. It's almost five dollars a pound for a one pound chub. Beef is going up all the time. Chicken used to be the cheapest. No more. Even that's gone up considerably. They took care of peanut butter too a few years ago. Remember the bad peanut crop? Overnight, a jar of peanut butter doubled, and more. Really, what are we supposed to eat? And after these prices are raised due to an alleged shortage or bad crop or some mad cow disease or something, why don't they ever come back down again? Eggs is another item that has recently doubled in price. No wonder why I'm so thin.

What did the stores do? They raised the price even more hiding it behind a tax. I believe the tax was dumped but the prices never came back down.

Always raising the price on account of something. As for extra taxes, my state is notorious for that - we have more taxes on things than any other state (maybe California may be the other one). Our former governor decided she didn't want anyone eating candy so she put taxes on candy bars. They doubled in price, but that doesn't stop those on welfare (who seem to be the most overweight group) from buying them since they can use their EBT card to purchase them. And soda. And ice cream.
