The post-Razor stuff should go first.

Got no idea why, but if I'm in an AC/DC mood, I'll just about always reach for one of these. Maybe it's 'burnout' for the earlier albums, particularly the Bon era.

Except Power Up

Power Up is pretty good. What do you think it is better than?

Everything after Blow Up Your Video except The Razor's Edge.

EDIT: Including BUYV

Last time I listened to Blow Up Your Video I thought it was just fine. Not top tier, but pretty darn good.

1. Heatseeker :haz:

2. That's The Way I Like To Rock And Roll :ebert:

3. Meanstreak (Nice bluesy number) :7up:

4. Go Zone (just ok)

5. Kissin Dynamite :whipgirl:

6. Nick of Time (cool guitar work) :haz:

7. Some Sin For Nuthin (a bit ploddy)

8. Ruff Stuff (great intro leads into a High Voltage type groove) :ebert:

9. Two's Up (not bad, but not very memorable)

10. This Means War :fury:

Surely this is going to be a HTH/BIB shoot out at the end!

I also love Powerage and Let there be Rock from the Bon-era and FTATR and FOAS from the Johnson-era, in particular, but I can't see them being there right at the end.

The thing about AC/DC is they don't have any albums that stink, provided you're a fan (I am). But I don't find myself returning to BUYV or Rock or Bust (for example) unless I'm going through a binge.

For sure. Too many other choices. When I do dig up Video, Fly or Switch, I'm always surprised how good most of the songs are. Give them the Mutt Lange treatment and they'd be even better, imo.

They do suffer from trying to live up to an amazing 8-album run that

Fly and Flick are actually a couple of my "real fan,"TM loves.

AC/DC are similar to UFO (and a few others) in that their best album is live and therefore not listed ;)

:ebert:

Last year I tried to create a 64 album bracket to determine the best live album (inspired by the NCAAs, obs), but I couldn't find a way to make a bracket work unless the poll had 32 1v1 choices, and that was too many options and four brackets seemed like asking people to do a lot (although I guess it would be the same in the end?). Anyway, we need more love for the live albums!

I like AC/DC a lot, but after TRE, I sort of lost track of what appeared when and where; when you've had three pounds of hamburger, how much different can the fourth pound taste?

Someone voted for Powerage?....really?

Yeah, that was me . . . I think I was looking at the wrong line, or trying to multi-task or something. I know I can change it, but it's not at-risk, so I'll just let it stand so that in years to come, the old-timers can say "why once some arse voted to oust Powerage!"

Rock or Bust was pretty underwhelming. Black Ice and Power Up are solid efforts and deserve protection. Stiff Upper Lip I think is just bad. Probably their worst IMO

Power Up getting that many elimination votes already? How many of you voting to eliminate it actually listened to it?

This will annoy just about everyone, I know, but as album experiences as a whole listening period, I prefer the Brian era. The Bonn albums may have higher highs, but a lot of lower lows. I find the Brian era more of a consistent 'median' listening experience Edited by yyz305
