Entre_Perpetuo Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 This reads more as an even match to me, though I'm not sure the love some on here have for heartland rockers like Seger and Springsteen translates over to Mellencamp. 2
zepphead Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 (edited) I've always liked Mellencamp. The Lonesome Jubilee is a fine album. All votes to JCM. Edited August 14, 2021 by zepphead 4
invisible airwave Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 Lonesome Jubilee My mom and ex stepdad saw John in concert in Los Angeles in early 1988 when he toured in support of this album right when Check It Out had been released. I've listened to this and Scarecrow a number of times since my mom had those on cassette. 2

Great! I think he really hits the nail on the head more than anyone else for life in the midwest. 2
blueschica Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Rooty Toot Toot, I love Lonesome Jubilee! It is closer to a toss up for band because I like the Guess Who a lot. Mellencamp for both, though, in the end.
78jazz Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Guess Who all the way. Agreed. I am not sure anyone besides Rush beats these guys in Canada. 1
grep Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Can we get a poll for Canned Wheat vs Canned Heat?
