Entre_Perpetuo Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Well this is a surprising matchup. What can I say, both of these are albums.
laughedatbytime Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 I am not familiar with either.Well, it's your sacred duty to vote. There's no requirement to be informed when you do. 2
zepphead Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 I am not familiar with either.Well, it's your sacred duty to vote. There's no requirement to be informed when you do.You are absolutely right. I will vote on the basis of who is/or was the freakiest and most musically gifted and give Uncle Frank both votes. 1
Your_Lion Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
goose Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 The Hall and Oates album was huge, spawning four hits (Including Kiss on My List and Dreams Come True) plus another teach that Paul Young covered for a hit (Ever Time You Go Away). If pop soul is your jam, than it's a good choice here. Pop soul is not my jam, so Zappa. Peaches In Regalia is a fusion classic. 2
Fordgalaxy Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 There's no doubt Frank was a musical genius, but there's too much of his stuff that I don't care for. Hall and Oates. 1
ReRushed Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 I don't think some realize that Daryl Hall is a great singer. Catchy, melodic and soulful pop gets my vote. 3
Entre_Perpetuo Posted April 26, 2021 Author Posted April 26, 2021 (edited) I don't think some realize that Daryl Hall is a great singer. Catchy, melodic and soulful pop gets my vote. Not just a great singer, probably one of the best of the 70s. Guy could give Lou Gramm a run for his money... it might even be the other way around. Edited April 26, 2021 by Entre_Perpetuo
Fordgalaxy Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 It's kind of close-minded that so many lump all pop music in the same bin.
Your_Lion Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 I've got nothing against Hall & Oats... it's just that Zappa is one of my all-time favourites. 1
stoopid Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 It's kind of close-minded that so many lump all pop music in the same bin. Voting for Zappa in this poll certainly does not equate that. 1
JohnRogers Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 (edited) Just no on the Hall and Oates. There is only one Hall and Oates song I like and I can’t even name it. Edit: She’s Gone is a decent song. Edited April 28, 2021 by JohnRogers 1
