The Stones album is almost all covers.

 

The Kinks album is an inconsistent mix of covers and originals.

 

So for me it is between The Who and The Beatles.

I've just finished listening to The Beatles and Who albums (see albums i've listened to today thread).

 

My opinion hasn't changed .... The Beatles Please Please Me is the better debut album.
