Def Leppard are often called a pop band so let's put them up against a pop band. The Police had 5 albums and Def Leppard had 5 good albums, so it's the Police and their 5 albums against Def Leppard and their 5 good albums. Who's got this? Edited by treeduck

Wow, this is like one of my polls! Fraid I can't vote here, as I haven't heard enough of Leppard's albums to judge. Come to think of it I haven't heard a couple Police albums either...

The Police were a shooting star that burned bright for a short time and burned out quickly.

Great musicians, great albums and songs.

I have been a fan since their great debut.

I wish I didn’t know that they dislike each other and have so since the beginning.

———————————————————

Def Leppard are a great band, great albums and great live.

Also, they just don’t give up ever, even in the face of adversity.

I also argue the point that they only have 5 good albums.

They have some great albums, but all of them are good.

I also love the fact that they are all big music fans...

...I suspect that if they weren’t in the music business they’d be here answering and arguing polls with the rest of us.

Needless to say I voted Def Leppard in all three categories.

I was sure the CAT would vote a clean sweep for the Police here being an Andy Summers lookalike and all...

More like a Don Knotts lookalike. :)

Are you a huge Police fan?

And how do you like Sting's solo career? I'm not a big fan of Sting myself.

I have all 5 Police albums and like them a lot...

...I have Sting’s greatest hits and his first album, “The Dream of the Blue Turtles”.

Yeah that Turtles album is probably his best, before he got too up his own arse.

I was all for the Police until I got to the last option.

Can't choose one over the other right now. They are both top albums in my book.

EDIT: Had to go with Synchronicity if for no other reason it contains Wrapped Around My Finger, King of Pain, and Synchronicity I and II

Da Police. Def Leppard were just warmed over English Bon Jovi.

I love ya Hemi, but Def Leppard sadly evolved into a shite warmed over English Bon Jokei.

Def Leppard started out on the NWOBHM scene with "On Through The Night!" Then they released a masterpiece "High N Dry" and yes, it blows away anything AC/DC did with BJ.

"Pyromania" is a masterpiece hit record. It was the bridge though into the MTV Pop Movement.

Could you imagine if Rick never lost his arm?

True, "Hysteria" would have still been a multi-platinum release but it would have been so much better with real organic drums. That's life.

Personally I love "Adrenalize" too.

So this is interesting in my mind.

I love the first five Def Lep records and the first five Police albums.

Stewart blows Rick away even before that horrible Corvette accident.

I love polls were I can't choose.

"Freewill" is playing in my head now.......

OK!

FUCKK IT!

If I had to go to a desert island and I could only take the first five Police albums or the first five Def Leppard albums.....

My gut is going with DEF LEPPARD!!!

"Driven To Tears" is driven into my brain. I can set up an organic drum kit on the beach and play it.

I could listen to "On Through The Night" forever.

Hmmmmm.

I love Steve Clark too. Just think if he wasn't an addict. FUKK!

This could be the toughest match up ever for me. Pyromania beats out Synchronicity relatively easily. High N Dry v. Zenyatta really depends on what I'm in the mood for. I'm probably in the mood for High N Dry more often though.

Band? I really love both. I have to kick this one around.

The Police are a better band, making more interesting music IMO over their career. Their music is unique enough to remain timeless.

Def Leppard was a 3 album quality hard rock band, High n Dry and Pyromania being their pinnacle achievements IMO. I feel like half their tracks now sound dated in some way.
