From an article on Blabbermouth.net-

"Steel drum orchestra Pan Rocks will enter the studio this fall to record its tribute to RUSH. Mike Portnoy (SONS OF APOLLO, THE WINERY DOGS, DREAM THEATER) will handle drumming duties. The bassist and guitarist will be announced in the coming weeks. . . .

" . . .Pan Rocks is a 50-to-100-plus-piece steel drum orchestra founded by rock steelpannist Tracy Thornton. The RUSH recording is a follow up to the 2017 Pan Rocks "Project LA", which featured the music of LED ZEPPELIN, KISS and JANE'S ADDICTION . . ."

I can't really imagine what that would sound like with Rush, but here is the previous version of Pan Rocks doing Led Zep's Immigrant Song- I'm still trying to make up my mind! It's an interesting sound but reminds me of the whole "Pickin On . . ." series where they do instrumental bluegrass versions of Led Zeppelin or whatever group. The sound is pleasant but so far removed from the original recording that it's a little strange to listen to . . :P

I was excited about this until I clicked on the link to the Zeppelin tribute. For me, it was a definite do not like. It sounds like something I’d hear st a Caribeean hotel and there’s no way id recognize it as Immigrabt Song,

A whole album of Rush tunes that sojund like this seems so strange. Kind of surprised Portnoy is doing it but then again he’s pretty much on stand by when anything Rush related is done so he can get involved

Perhaps they can push the envelope a little and stay away from the usual suspects like Limelight, Working Man or Fly By Night.

I have a few Steel Drum CDs and if these people know what they're doing it should sound pretty cool.

Yeah its a great sound.

I do think working man will be included as the steel pans would seem to mesh with the reggae version.

The Magna Carta tributes were Ok I guess. A few of my favorites tend to be the classical ones. Exit...Stage Right and The Royal Philharmonic are likely my faves.

I still don't know quite what to think about the lullaby renditions though.

I would rather listen to human shit hitting a summer sausage fan than listen to any of that Magna Carta shite.

Working Man CD? Jesus

GARBAGE

It's so sad Rush fans have to listen to covers of songs that were actually made by true legends and real musicians.

Not copy cat cumbersome crappers.

JUNK!

Go jack off to Cygnus And The Sea Monsters then.

I'm sure you fanbois will love that one. LOL!!!!!!!!!

I will stick to Geddy Alex and Neil.
