There is a segment of the board who will tell you “real fans” of a band don’t like the material casual fans are familiar with. So you’ll hear people tell you Limelight is one Rush’s 10 worst songs, with Dog Years being one of the best. Or they’ll say Screaming for Vengeance is a horrible Priest album. Or Tony Martin was Sabbath’s best singer. So others of us (OK, really, “me,”) ridicule that tendency to prove you’re a “real fan,” by listing more obscure parts of a band’s discograpy and claiming that’s the real gold. For what it's worth, I like probably about 90 percent of what Rush has released. I don't think they ever had a bad album overall but they have had some bad songs. All bands not matter how good always have some stinkers. He does in fact enjoy Rush. I think HYF is one of his favorite albums ever, though I'm not sure. Just because he loves HYF doesn't mean he enjoys FBN, or RTB, or even CA. I’m a fan, so I can enjoy all of their work to some degree. I just went through a binge, so I listened to ASoH a few times. But T4E isn’t PeW, no matter how long you’ve followed the band.
