Permanent-Rush Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 (edited) What are ur opinions on the Cure song Friday I'm In Love?? I love the song and it's one of my favorites from The Cure tbh, thou a lot of ppl hate on it bc it's happier than there other songs. I love that it's different than other Cure songs and I LOVE the video a lot!! Every time I play it n watch the video I always get a smile on my face bc it makes me so happy (besides my girlfriend Mary ofc). The music video took only two hours to film, and features homages to silent-film pioneers actually, as Rolling stone points out in this article: https://www.rollings...nt-know-w477370 Edited December 27, 2017 by Permanent-Rush 2
Digital Dad Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Its even worse than Shiny Happy People. 2
Permanent-Rush Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 Its even worse than Shiny Happy People. I love Shiny Happy People and Friday I'm In Love A TON tbh 1
JohnnyBlaze Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Good song, weak video. For the video, I would’ve gone with a combo of actors following the lyrical storyline and concert footage during the chorus. The only time I’ve seen a Cure gig was during this tour. High quality show. 1
Segue Myles Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Its even worse than Shiny Happy People. I love Shiny Happy People and Friday I'm In Love A TON tbh TWO OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS AS WELL! 1

tx_rush Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Have some good memories associated with it, so Id say its a good song....definitely a personal bias with my vote, but I give it a thumbs up! 1
Permanent-Rush Posted December 28, 2017 Author Posted December 28, 2017 They've got way better songs True actually, but the song isn't bad imo 1
tx_rush Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 They've got way better songs True actually, but the song isn't bad imo It’s definitely one of the Cure’s more popish songs...doesn’t mean its bad. Since I have confessed my like for this song, Ill add this- I have a good friend from Venezuela- we used to play the song “Love Cats”, him on keys and myself on vocals and bass....a handful of times while at a bar w live music, during an intermission we would go up a perform lol 2
Oracle Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Not really a tune I bang out all the time, but it's a nice sing-a-long in the car with the girlfriend. 2

Texas King Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Not The Cure fan, but I like that song. 1
Blue J Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Great song, from a fantastic band. I remember when Wish was released, and this song was the first single from it...as the Cure had never really been a ‘singles’ band, a lot of people said The Cure had ‘sold out’. But Robert Smith has been crafting pop gems like this for well over a decade. Sure, it’s more slickly produced than their music was several years prior, but I don’t care. It’s a great tune. 3
goose Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I used to crank this tune as middle school kids wandered into my classroom Friday mornings. I dig it. 2
