Hi_Jinx
This was a tough choice. Most of the songs have a flash of real passion to them. Insightful, thoughtful and emotive. It reaches people on a gut level. Instinctual and raw sometimes, but always affecting. Few can really listen to this album and not feel something. Melll
QUOTE (defrushfan01 @ Nov 25 2005, 05:45 AM) Start today has a great feel, and the vocals being so harsh, just really put me into a mind set like no other album can do. Great song, great vocals. Agreed. And I like the album.

the masked drummer
The one where Alex' wife says he has more hair on his back than he has on his head!!! I forget the name, though... No, actually I like track one, which was the one that got airplay that Edwin (from "I Mother Earth") sang on. Edwin's cool. He's on my myspace list. lol I highly recommend "Scenery and Fish" from I Mother Earth and anything else by them. They warmed up for DT on the falling into infinity tour, which prompted me to pick up their CD...
BroonsBabe
I had to go with "Shut up Shuttin' up", because of it's supreme Zappa-esque quality. But "Strip and Go Naked' is a close second.. I love the instrumentals on this album!

steelcaressed
QUOTE (treeduck @ Aug 4 2006, 08:41 PM) I think Victor, I love that WH Auden poem, it's spooky good... Indeed it is. I never thought I would like a spoken word song, but he does an excellent job w/ mood creation. The album is generally underrated on this forum. There is some fine work on it, and lots of guitar. Ru5h F@n
QUOTE (ES-335 @ Sep 23 2005, 05:57 PM) Shut up shutting up ... from first listen LOL!!! Victor is a cool song too. I really wasn't too impressed with this album though, I very rarely listen to it . MFH, however, is one of my favs. I also loved "Shut Up Shutting Up". That song was totally hilarious. Del_Duio
God, I haven't listened to victor in over 10 years but I still remember how that woman on "Start Today" sounds a lot like old Geddy so I picked that one. And the song where Alex's wife is complaining was pretty funny too.
Chocojoe
Mr. X is prolly my favorite off that album.
Lerxster
Got to go with Promise. I remember when i first heard that on the radio- didn't know Alex had an album out. I was like, that sounds kinda like Rush. Then i heard the solo and was like, that sounds exactly like Alex! That's cause it was!

missedexit
I'm amazed by this song, as it's so far removed from anything I would think Alex would write about. It's so "in your face." It's not my fave song off the cd, the last song is, however, this is a fave cd for me.
