  3. QUOTE (PhilipYYZ @ Oct 28 2010, 09:05 PM) interesting 6/10 ------------------ Iron Maiden - No prayer for the dying http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns7tbK544Cw awesome! Can't go wrong with Maiden. How about Roger Glover (Deep Purple/Rainbow):
  4. QUOTE (Rush! @ Oct 25 2010, 01:34 PM) QUOTE (ReRushed @ Oct 25 2010, 12:59 AM) QUOTE (Rush! @ Oct 25 2010, 12:44 AM) QUOTE (ReRushed @ Oct 23 2010, 09:47 PM) I am Damo Suzuki! Great song & album. ReRushed I believe you & I are the most compatible on here in terms of music taste. I don't have much Fall in my collection, but This Nation's Saving Grace is currently in high rotation. Great stuff. I see, that's one of their best albums for sure. If you like this one so much I'd also get The Wonderful & Frightening World of The Fall. Similar sound to TNSG but with slightly lesser production. Cruiser's Creek! Great Fall song.
  5. QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Oct 2 2010, 05:06 PM) QUOTE (danielmclark @ Oct 2 2010, 12:27 PM)Peter Gabriel's first solo album is the most schizo album I've yet heard. I've just checked it out for the first time... half the album is completely unlistenable. Horrible: Moribund, Modern Love, Excuse Me, Waiting for the Big One, Down the Dolce Vita Agree with you, "Waiting For The Big One" is 1 of my fave gabriel songs, with insightful lyrics.
  6. The only cd I've had time to buy is "The Sound of Perseverance", and I love it. I have to buy more Chuck S.! RIP! A sad loss to tech metal!
  7. I have to admit, even though I've seen them since (the 6 piece), I lost interest after '3 of a perfect pair'! Though I love all the side projects.
  8. Loved Udo & the band, very cool that you went with their early material!
  9. QUOTE (Bastille Dave @ Jul 4 2010, 05:11 AM) I bought the Rush Doc that came with the t-shirt. I wore the t-shirt today. I'm 42 years old and I feel like some Rush fan wannabe for wearing it. somebody please comfort me and tell me I'm not. for what it's worth, not one person today said "hey, cool shirt", not even the long hair dude wearing the Iron Maiden "Maiden Japan" t-shirt I saw at Fred Meyers. Ya know, maybe Rush isnt as huge as we all think they are. And that is ok by me. Bought the package at BestBuy & loved the dvd, but found the shirt kind of weathered, wasn't impressed with it. But it's always good to promote the band, I'm sure people saw it when you wore it.
  10. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ May 28 2010, 07:28 AM) Okay, I was never a hardcore Ozzy fan, but a casual one. I bought Blizzard and Diary when they were first released but after the cassettes (yeah, I'm old) wore out I never replaced them. So can anyone tell me when and exactly why they were redone? I do like the idea of these reissues and may pick them up. Lee & Bob sued Ozzy, and lost, but Sharon had a bug up her A##, and when they re-re-released the 1st 2, sharon had Mike Bordin and, if memory serves, Rudy Sarzo re-record Lee & Bob's parts. Actually, it was Rob Trujillo on bass. Done Out of Spite!
  11. "Faithhealer" has been copied by quite a few people, including Fish. Alex Harvey was an amazing performer & and he had a great backing band.
  12. QUOTE (yoda @ Jul 16 2006, 12:24 AM) My second favorite band next to rush is blue oyster cult I meet the keyboard player alan laneir [excuse spelling] I left my cig's out in my car when I saw them in DALLAS,TEXAS at the arcadia and bummed a cig from who turned out to be the keyboard player we talked for at least 45 minutes he asked me what song I wanted to hear they played a song called "IN THEE" off mirrors for me "In Thee" is an amazing song, though 'Mirrors' the album got bad write-offs, though I love it, as well as all their releases, and Buck and Eric are still touring in May of 2010, with great set lists.
  13. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Aug 23 2008, 01:42 AM) Big Star is the greatest American rock band nobody's heard of. Without a doubt, RIP Chris & Alex.
  14. I have 'Rapid Eye Movement' and it is, imho, 1 of the best prog/metal releases of all time. I hear so many influences, but they still retain their own sound. Outstanding.
  15. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Apr 11 2010, 01:22 AM) It's been a while since being back in California, but I have a million polls and threads stored up inside my "Simple Mind." LOL! Anyway, thanks to "Hot Tub Time Machine" I had to put on "Theatre Of Pain" tonight. Some say this record was a BUST! Or simply put, a bomb. I absolutely love it! "City Boy Blues" is a great fukking tune! Well, "Home Sweet Home" is in "Hot Tub Time Machine." So Is "Kickstart My Heart." So growing up as a teen in the Eighties I was always a hardcore Crue fanatic but I always thought that Mick Mars, I mean Robert Deal was the "Weakest Link!" Now my tune has totally changed. I think Mars is a great fukking guitarist who never got his due thanks to the other THREEGOS. Mick was the oldest Cruester too, so he really didn't fit in with the other guys and their drug infused antics. I feel sorry for Mick these days with that spinal cord fusion issue. At least Mick can still shred on the guitar with his fingers. It's just sad to watch him stand there like a zombie playing that six stringed serpent. I would trade in all the money, wealth and pussy on the planet for a healthy spinal cord. Wouldn't you? Glad to be part of this Forum to represent the OLD SCHOOL HARD ROCK AND METAL SHIT! Somebody has to do it! "KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE MONEY" BITCHES!!! Time for another ice cold brewski!!!! Motley Crue RULES!!! I agree with you 100%. He and Nikki Sixx are the reason I listen to Crue. The whole of 'Dr. Feelgood' was underated as far as his playing went, and Nikki can write some real primal songs. Tommy Lee is passable, and Vince is passable. Great music to drink to, imho.
  16. QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 9 2010, 08:30 PM) I've already got 40% loss in one ear due to trauma (repeated infections) in childhood. I don't need any more. Rush will be the only show I've attended since. . .Rush 2008. Still, I'm bad to listen to music very loud and I have never worn earplugs at shows. I may give that some thought this time around - I'm scared of getting tinnitus, for one thing. I know a couple of people who have it and it's hell. I have tinnitus, partially from hearing loss suffered as a baby, and by hitting far too many shows with no ear protection. It sucks big time. I now use these little orange ear plugs, and though it does take a little away re: sound, I'd much rather be able to hear when I hit 60 years old.
  17. I'm amazed by this song, as it's so far removed from anything I would think Alex would write about. It's so "in your face." It's not my fave song off the cd, the last song is, however, this is a fave cd for me.
