Split Enz are from New Zealand

Yeah, but close enough.

Might as well say Rush is an American band then

They are. North American.

Exactly.

Unless Canada is part of a separate continent I've never heard of...

Easy.

The Church, Crowded House, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and The Underground Lovers. Last one not so well-known. A sample:

It drives Latin Americans nuts that we call ourselves America.

Yet it's ok to call a New Zealander an Aussie?

Tell a Canadian they're from the USA and say "Yeah, close enough". I'm SURE they'd like that.

Midnight Oil, hands down.

Also my #1 favorite band, tied with DT.

Goose, the Oils are making a big announcement tomorrow. People think it's going to be their 2017 tour schedule but I'm really hoping for news of a new album too!

Oiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiills!!

Midnight Oil. Peter Garret frightens me. Imagine waking up in the middle of the night and seeing this at the foot of your bed:

OK only if they were in a one hit wonder 80s band. That's why it's OK to call Aimee Mann an American.

I just was notified of that as well.

Toronto's the closest to me. A five hour drive for the Oils? Possibly the last time ever?

I need to make it happen.

Lucky to see them in Lincoln in the early 90's.

Finger's crossed.

I get a home show (more or less), I'll be there!

I can take my 15 year old with me now, who was still in the womb the last time I saw them.

Best of all is she knows all of their songs and will be just as psyched to hear Lucky Country or No Time For Games as Beds are Burning.

It's amazing the scope of this tour, wow, it's the largest since Blue Sky Mining I think,

They're playing literally everywhere this year.

My son wants to go, but at 15 he can't make the 19+ show.

Next closest is north Philly, but I don't see that happening.

Can we finally get real and admit that The Shat is no longer a Canadian actor and hasn't been for decades.

I'm reading this without my glasses and at a glance "The Shat" looked like "Tai Shan".

Funnily, either one works with the sentence!

I'm surprised people have even heard of Midnight Oil in the USA.

I wasn't aware they were that well known. They have always had the reputation of being a phenomenal live band.
