QUOTE (-D-RocK- @ Jun 20 2012, 03:54 PM) Oh fer christ sake........what next? This is great detailed analysis of the song, and quite a few people have something to say about it. It's something I've noticed as well. So yeah, not sure what you're trying to accomplish with that post. Yes I picked up on that too, and it feels kind of empty there.

clockwork angels by a mile. my answer won't change in a year either.
-
It's a pretty cool touch. In years past, Neil would have probably just thrown in another fill in that spot.
-
For the most part they make 5, 6, 7 minute songs go by pretty quick. That's a testament to their songwriting ability I'd say.
-
i don't really understand why this track exists
-
I love every single album mentioned in the original post, so no redemption needed here...
-
I like it for the most part...the main riff has a jangly 90s feel. I do admit the bridge portion gets a little unwieldy though.
-
Those two songs are pretty cool, so there's that.
-
Carnies has a catchy and interesting chorus melody.
-
I just saw it this morning, had to rewind my DVR. Would've been cool if they showed some imagery of the band.
-
Thing is, this album isn't always "very melodic." Large swaths of songs are very crunchy...think Vapor Trails. Not that that's a bad thing, I loved VT and I similarly love CA.
-
Nice I might toke at some point this weekend...did you listen to the whole album? Any songs really stand out?
-
...so, what drum fill are we talking about here?
-
I'm still trying to see if I dig it more than S&A

Not a big meat eater but I did try In-N-Out when I visited the Left Coast in 2010. It was okay, nothing to write home about IMO.

When it comes to Rush closers I am and always will be a Countdown guy. The song's meaning/lyrics express a fascination and optimism with the potential of humanity that I find very moving. I love the contrast between the album's opener, Subdivisions, talking about feeling trapped, bored, etc. within the confines of suburbs, and Countdown beaming about the endless reach of the final frontier. Also the outro riff is an absolute gem.

QUOTE (Jeffrey @ Jun 13 2012, 06:32 AM) Bought CD and nothing else. Same

Freeze is long overdue IMO. Song's on fire.
-
I don't really care for 2112...it's probably near the bottom of my list as far as Rush albums go
-
yeah...and more easily than i thought, actually.
-
that would be me. i want the physical CD buying experience...
-
Both of those are great albums, but I'm glad Clockwork Angels has its own unique sound.

seeing as how hemispheres, xanadu, and camera eye are essentially the same songs twice, 30-second clips wouldn't be THAT unindicative...this is assuming they're 30 seconds in the middle, not 30 seconds of intro.
