  1. Me too...and I hope they want to soon...hell I've been hoping that for about a decade. I'm so glad they didn't want to stop performing a decade ago, because if they had I would never have become a fan, and I would have missed out on what turned out to be one of the most important bands of my life It saddens me that so many can't enjoy the band for what they are now, but I will go to my grave thankful for the persistence of :rush:

  2. Do you have to deal with them? People glued to their cell phone, walking, texting, oblivious to the world around them. Seems like they're everywhere in the office, and they're multiplying.... http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/05/12/article-2143530-130F1A63000005DC-42_468x286.jpg

  4. Yeah me too. As much as I complain about Geddy's voice (and that's only because it upsets me) I'll still go as long as they tour. It upsets you? The fact that his voice is declining. I like to think of it as "evolving." I love the way he sings Limelight now much better than on the studio, or even Rio. But that's just me. Oh really? To me he doesn't even sound the same anymore. He is singing from his throat and head voice rather than his chest like he should be. Clockwork Angels had so much voice processing done on it which makes it less noticeable how his voice cracks so much now. Should is a funny word. I think Geddy should sing however he wants to

  7. I thought to start a thread in this section for us ladies where we could write things about Rush that fit into no other thread. Last night and one night last week, I had a strange Rush dream. In both dreams I heard two songs. Nothing strange about that, right? Well, the strange thing was that I knew in the dream it was Rush, but neither one was a song that has already been released. The dream last night included Geddy asking me (I love dreams ~ ~ Geddy asking me! ) what I thought about the song and whether it should be included on their album. Well, all I remember is that the song I heard last night and the one I heard last week were unique to Rush and that both were beautiful songs. :)

  9. It seems like younger Rush fans severely underestimate how obscure Rush were relative to bands like Foreigner, Kansas, Boston, Kiss, Ted Nugent, Nazareth, Blue Oyster Cult, Van Halen, Bad Company, Fleetwood Mac, etc. back in the mid to late 70s.

  11. 23 June 2014 Monday Flying Snakes The image of airborne snakes may seem like the stuff of nightmares (or a certain Hollywood movie), but in the jungles of South and Southeast Asia it is reality. Flying snake is a misnomer, since, barring a strong updraft, these animals can’t actually gain altitude. They’re gliders, using the speed of free fall and contortions of their bodies to catch the air and generate lift. There are five recognized species of flying snake, found from western India to the Indonesian archipelago. Knowledge of their behavior in the wild is limited, but they are thought to be highly arboreal, rarely descending from the canopy. The smallest species reach about 2 feet (61 centimeters) in length and the largest grow to 4 feet (1.2 meters). Their diets are variable depending on their range, but they are known to eat rodents, lizards, frogs, birds, and bats. They are mildly venomous snakes, but their tiny, fixed rear fangs make them harmless to humans. Scientists don’t know how often or exactly why flying snakes fly, but it’s likely they use their aerobatics to escape predators, to move from tree to tree without having to descend to the forest floor, and possibly even to hunt prey. http://i.imgur.com/8G6s6Dl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yYnNC90.jpg http://i.imgur.com/TUD0a5A.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YjWTksN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RMLdMMa.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XhT7avp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JPtS1BG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/W9AmjBG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oKlp5H1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Eltpa0P.gif

  12. Sorry you're going through a crappy time. Have you tried listening to really loud, really angry music? It sometimes helps me when I'm feeling that way. Live vicariously through others, so to speak. ABBA or Toto might do the trick.... BTW Can we get back to the boobs at some point? Boobs..! :P http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t235/mrmojorisin7/RaquelWelch1.jpg  :D RACQUEL WELCH IS FINE! Still to this day! :7up: She helped Andy Dufresne escape!! Its a damn conspiracy!! That's what this is and you are all in on it!.... :) Lord! It's a miracle! Man up and vanished like a fart in the wind! Nothin' left but some damn rocks on the windowsill and that cupcake on the wall! Let's ask her! Maybe she knows! What say there, Fuzzy-Britches? Feel like talking? Guess not. Why should you be different? What a great movie! :D

  16. The weather was perfect today, and my family and I went for a day trip to Toronto. We listened to some good music driving on the highway (Disraeli Gears by Cream, Best of Buddy Holly, Relayer by Yes and A Saucerful of Secrets by Pink Floyd). We saw the Ontario Legislative Building at Queen's Park which appears on the Moving Pictures album cover. Then, we ate lunch at Caplansky's, the deli on College Street that has a breakfast named 'the Geddy' because that's the way he likes his breakfast. Last winter, we saw Caplansky's featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (before we knew of the Geddy connection) so it was on our bucket list to try out. We each had a Knish for the main course and the Blintzes for dessert. Man, what a great lunch that was. We also bought a jar of Caplanksy's Super Extra Hot mustard as my husband and son claim it's the best mustard they've ever had. Then we walked a few blocks down College to see the Orbit Room (Alex's club). There was a door leading up the stairs to an upper floor establishment - that's all we could see. Oh well, now we've seen it. That was it as far as the Rush sightseeing was concerned. The rest of the day was spent shopping, walking and gawking - great fun. This day had been planned during the past miserable winter, and it was nice to finally do it.

  18. I had this fun/weird Rush dream a couple nights ago. Rush were playing at some sort of neighborhood street party but there weren't many people watching them. I walked past and wasn't sure if I should stop because it wasn't a "real" Rush concert, but decided to since when else would I see them in such a small venue. Some really drunk/high girl was up in front and propositioned Geddy. Neil then offered her his hangover cure (assuming she would need it) which was: get a slice of pizza and a popsicle, eat the popsicle over the pizza so it drips all over it, then eat the pizza (wtf?). Like I said, weird.

  32. A premonition? Here's hoping they record something new soon. I had a dream couple of weeks ago where I was on stage during a concert. I don't know if I was a sound person or what but I remember Geddy getting upset at Alex who kept messing up songs they were doing. He kept putting weird oddball guitar parts in the songs that didn't belong there. Like the theme for Hawaii 5-0 and Beverly Hillbillies during Working Man. Geddy was so pissed but couldn't really stop the concert.

  33. I always have a good laugh at the "guitar good, keyboard bad" RUSH clique. Some of Alex's best work is on the "keyboard era" albums. Listen to his work on The Weapon, especially the solo and tell them that isn't amazing. Listen to Between The Wheels Listen to Emotion Detector I could go on and on and on.. I just find it humorous. That one little fragment of the community hears the opening chords and writes off an entire song (or album) without digging deeper to see what might be underneath it all.

  39. Congrat's indeed! She played great! I caught the last five holes or so, and she was really composed. After dropping two strokes on 16, to come back with a birdie on 17 showed maturity. I always felt bad for all the flack she took for playing in men's tournaments at a young age. Having seen her play in a PGA tourney first hand, I can tell you taht she had everything she needed physically, only missing the good stuff between the ears to manage her game. It looks like that may now be behind her. Here's hoping she comes to dominate the next decade!

  40. She flies across the studio and lands in a bucket of water. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/animal/animal0052.gif I bet she does. I bet she does. I bet she does. Know what I mean? Nudge nudge Yes, you realize of course that Rosamund is still rather young? :tsk: Well she's broken our hearts, the little b@st@rd. She's been nothing but trouble and if she comes round here again I'll kick her teeth in. Hey, you know, mother, I think there's a play there .... get t'agent on t'phone. When moon high over prairie ... when wolf howl over mountain, when mighty wind roar through Yellow Valley. we go Leatherhead Rep - block booking, upper circle - whole tribe get it on 3/6d each. Well I'm a plumber. I can't act. This chap came to us straight from the Chichester Festival; we operated just in time, and now he's almost normal. I'm a good little doggie. I'm a good little dog. :hi: Yeah, he's right into it today - d'you mind taking him for walkies? I'm afraid my walk has become rather sillier recently I ask you, four and six a pound, and him with a wooden leg...I don't know how she puts up with it after all the trouble she's had with her you-know-what. Oh, that's not what I've heard. You know too much, my dental friend. Come clean. You're a dentist aren't you. That's a bloody lie! :hockeygoon: Actually, I'm a gynaecologist... but this is my lunchhour Really? And what happened to the corned beef rolls? :tsk:

  41. I have to blame Bradley for the loss. He had a sure goal earlier and blew it and then at the 94:30 mark had that lazy turnover near midfield which he should have easily have handled. On the world's stage you've got to bury that goal.
