What made your day today? v.2

Morning now and I've got the day off.

Slept an hour longer than usual.

And all I've got on my plate is some housework, TRF, the gym, then meet my wife for dinner at our favorite place in the city.

Don't forget the Tater Tots!! :P

I forgot!

On the train going home now (10:30pm). Wife's sleeping in the seat next to me...I guess the bottle of wine we polished off was too much for her.

In the 15 minutes since we left the restaurant to where I'm sitting now, I've seen one drunk businessman fall head first into some bushes, another slob of a drunk businessman held up by his tolerant wife as he proclaims in his slurred speech "daijobu" ((says he's alright...but of course he's totally not)), and yet another drunk businessman supported on both arms by his loyal co-workers as they drag him towards the ticket gate laughing.

So yeah, there are fewer drunks out than usual.

You'll never read about these things in the Lonely Planet travel guidebooks. I like to bring them to you.

:blaze:

Can't wait for the book to come out! :P

This thursday I got to experience Rammstein for the second time, this time with family and close friends. A highlight was being close to the stage with my 59 year old mom, and she loved it. A particular cool feat was that this was at a festival in my hometown.

My mom is cool

I loved to put it in the freezer and then smack it into pieces! Strawberry was the best.

People said that on Farcebook also....I remember doing that, but I also remember just licking and sucking on 'em like a lollypop! I liked all the flavors!

Back at you.

It's amazing how you take them for granted on a daily basis. But man, this friend came through when I most needed it.

A car I've been in LOVE with since the early '60s finally is being made by a Company, and is available through a Die-cast model store in Italy. It is the 1960 Plymouth Valiant, and I GOT ONE!!! It arrived today, but I noticed that nothing opens on this model. Therefore I don't think the company that makes it should charge what they do for it. but, it is an actually GOOD looking model! The kid who was my friend, had one because his father had bought a Valiant a coupe years before, and had been given a friction engined model of the car when he purchased the real car. I fell in love with the design back then, and the 'tilted' real tail light optics was one of the reasons. The same reason I liked the early '60s Mercury Comet, which my brother bought one. Well, here it is:

I have to remind myself often never to take anyone for granted ever, especially my husband.

What's that old saying - A friend in need is a friend indeed?

I like how you have the most essential web site open in the background.

Spend a small fortune on 3 Rammstein records today.

Herzeleid, Sehnsucht and Rosenrot

Can you pronounce them? ;)

I've owned Sehnsucht forever it seems like...bought it right after it was released.... "Du Hast" was the hit I bought it for, but I love THE WHOLE ALBUM!!!

I started listening to them in the mid-90s. The first time I saw them live ('97 or '98) was when I heard the best description of their live shows: "Fire, guitars, and screaming Germans - what more could you ask for?!"

Like the story Chad Smith tells about Till Lindemann in the Made in America documentary:

"First there's the fire of the mind"

"Then there's the fire of the heart"

"And then there's just fire - HA HA HA HA"

I'm on Day Six of vacay :)

It's also my first time here on TRF in those six days. Looks like it's been a perfect time to be absent from Music of the Spheres...

My middle daughter just gave us the news that she and her boyfriend are engaged!  He is an awesome guy, and we couldn't be happier! No news on where or when, but that's ok! :) :) We're so happy for them! (Image due to corresponding entry in "what pissed you off today" sigh . . . .never a dull moment!
