The future disappears into memory,

With only a moment between.

Forever dwells in that moment;

Hope is what remains to be seen.

Forever dwells in that moment;

Hope is what remains to be seen.

Just think of what my life could be

In a world like I have seen

I don't think I can carry on

This cold and empty life

Ohhhhh Nooooooooooooo...

We can walk our road together

If our goals are all the same

We can run alone and free

If we pursue a different aim

Let the truth of love be lighted

Let the love of truth shine clear

Sensibility

Armed with sense and liberty

With the heart and mind united in a single

Perfect

Sphere

I know this is the other side of the coin, but the way Geddy delivers:

Brooding in the tower

Watching o'er his land

Holding every creature

Helplessly they stand

Gaze into his prisms

Knowing they are near

Lead them to the dungeons

Spectres numb with fear

They bow defeated

is very moving - in fact, I feel so moved now listening to it I want to fire up the 455 and scream down the road, snow be damned !

His final delivery of "one moment's high / and glory rolls on by" always sends chills up my spine. Marathon is such an obvious song for a run but man, does it work.

I really enjoy Geddy's vibrato on pretty much every live version of The Weapon. The more dramatic the better.

 I know you like that song a lot. Me too, for many of the same reasons, I think. Signals is my favorite album, and The Weapon is my favorite track on that album. It just faded in and, like, boom, I was paying attention. I rarely pay attention to music for the entire duration of the song, especially if it's my first listen, but I did it for this one. It just resonated.

I particularly love how he sings the first section of Witch Hunt.

The night is black without a moon

The air is thick and still

The vigilantes gather on

The lonely, torchlit hill

Features distorted, in the flickering light

Faces are twisted and grotesque

Silent and stern in the sweltering night

Mob moves like demons possessed

Quiet in conscience, calm in their right

Confident their ways are best

yeah, pretty much the reason I became a Rush fan...and continue to be one, too many to mention really, but honestly I don't know that it would have the same impact without the music underlying it all, it pretty much is a package deal for me, it would not be the same with another vocalist, or drummer or guitarist...you get the picture

Sometimes when I hear the opening lyrics to closer to the heart

And the men who hold high places

Must be the ones

to

start

to

mould a new reality

closer

to

the

heart

I just love the way he delivers that opening verse

I tried to believe, but you know it's no good

That vibrato at the words "believe" and "good" sounds like his voice is quavering. Very emotionally provocative for me.

"Make each sensation a little bit stronger"...this line sung at the end of Time Stand Still. You can really feel the emotion in his voice, as if he can't emphasize these lyrics enough.

If the Analog Kid doesn't move you, I question if you have a heart.

I love Geddy's voice on Manhattan Project. Approaches a dark topic with romanticism and joy.

Flying out of the shockwave

On that August day
