What songs of other bands would you like to hear performed by Rush?

This topic is the obvious counterpart to my earlier post, "What Rush songs would you like to hear performed by other bands?"

I would love to hear Rush perform Starship Trooper by Yes, Kashmir by Zeppelin, or Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson to name just three.

Definitely Christine Sixteen and Strutter by KISS, to see if they could handle the complexity of the songs by such great musicians.

Rush play Lick It Up? As a three piece? Not bloody likely.

It would be fun to hear Geddy sing these lyrics, though.

Yeah, yeah

Don't wanna wait 'til you know me better

Let's just be glad for the time together

Life's such a treat and it's time you taste it

There ain't a reason on earth to waste it

It ain't a crime to be good to yourself

Lick it up, lick it up, oh, it's only right now

Lick it up, lick it up, oh, ooh yeah

Lick it up, lick it up, oh, come on, come on

Lick it up, lick it up, oh, ooh

Don't need to wait for an invitation

You gotta live like you're on vacation

There's something sweet you can't buy with money

Lick it up, woo, lick it up

It's all you need, so believe me honey

It ain't a crime to be good to yourself

Lick it up, lick it up, oh, it's only right now

Lick it up, lick it up, oh, ooh yeah

Lick it up, lick it up, oh, come on, come on

Lick it…

You are probably right. The complexity would make Hemispheres and the struggle to record it look like a walk in the park. Not sure what I was thinking. No way 3 guys could "make such a sound"... :)

I really want a "Feedback II" release with a nod to their Prog roots

Tracklist

i) Heart of the Sunrise - Yes

ii) Watcher of the Skies - Genesis

iii) Inca Roads - Frank Zappa

iv) Dharma for One - Jethro Tull

v) Achillies Last Stand - Led Zeppelin

yeah, I think that would make a nifty EP

That's funny - this is the same shit my friend who loves Return To Forever says about RUSH

go figure

;)

Go listen to the live versions of 100,000 Years or Parasite and tell me it is light years behind what RUSH was doing in 1974-75 - it's not

Springsteen's The Wind And The Rain, from when he part of a band called Steel Mill, and thourougly immersed in prog rock (he was a big fan of King Crimson and other bands prior to going solo).

Well, fortunately they were short. And, for KISS, not horrible.

GIve me By Tor, Working Man, and The Necromancer any day of the week.

Whatever if they had to add 5 or 10 minutes to the show to play another band song, nothing if a Rush song had to leave space to somebody else's stuff.
