The biggest mosquitoes I've ever seen were in South Carolina. They were about the size of a daddy long legs but with wings. You could see them coming a mile away which is one benefit I suppose but they look like they could suck about a liter of blood out of you.

Nah, what I saw were mosquitos. They had the striped legs and blood sucking mouth parts. I know all about crane flies. I've seen a lot of them around lakes and ponds. Can't kill them fast enough.
