Finbar
QUOTE (Finbar @ Mar 5 2007, 10:30 AM) QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Mar 5 2007, 08:55 AM) How's about this one: Kool and the Gang's "Celebration" sounds like Yes' "Roundabout" I remember years back there was some cell phone commercial with a similar kinda riff to Roundabout. I don't really hear the similarity between Celebration Time and Roundabout, though, but I'll listen again. BOTH great songs! On second thought, I do hear the similar riff. It was thanks to your pointing it out that I noticed! Thanks!

barney_rebel
QUOTE (KublaKhan @ Feb 26 2007, 07:29 PM) The "Solo" to Dani California is very similar to the Purple Haze riff. Well, at least the first few notes of the solo. Danny California has been compared to Tom Petty's "Last Dance With Mary Jane"

Xanadude69
Kid Rock! what a joke. His most popular song right now has 'sweet home alabama' and 'wear wolfs of london' sampled in it. He can't get a hit song without using other peoples hit songs! haha I hate kid rock BTW

Super25Smasher
I was listening to They Might Be Giants' "Severe Tyre Damage" the other day, and as 'They Got Lost' was playing, it struck me that the verses were really similar to the initial vocal on ELP's 'Karn Evil No. 9 - 1st Impression'. There have been other well documented ones over the years - The Doors 'Hello I Love You' & The Kinks 'All Day And All Of The Night'Ray Parker Jnr 'Ghostbusters' & Huey Lewis and The News 'I Need A New Drug'Any others come to mind?? I was thinking of these two.

Xanadu
I was listening to the radio one day and the Green Day song "Brain Stew" came on. The first time I heard the song, particularly the intro, I was pretty sure it was a rip-off of "25 or 6 to 4" by Chicago. And I guess I am not the only one who has noticed that:http://entertainment.time.com/2013/08/22/11-suspiciously-sound-alike-songs/slide/chicago-25-or-6-to-4-1970-vs-green-day-brain-stew-1996/
