Yup, that golf tournament capped off a great mother's day for me also. My family and I enjoyed it. Nice to see Rickie acknowledge his mom during his acceptance speech...

Father's Day will be the US Open, I hope it can be half as exciting..

I'm not a Sergio fan but I have to say the fans were @#$!-ing idiots screaming for his shots to go into the water, booing and even yelling during his setup. Jackasses all of them.

Of course, Rickie has bathing suit model girlfriend, lol

Nice outfit...

She should have a bit more class than that.

We were making the same comment at our mother's day gathering. Well, if she wanted some attention for herself, she got it.

Someone needs to tell her the Country Club and the Night Club are 2 completely different places.

Rickie is now being referred to as the Andre Agassi of the 21st century sportsworld.

Quick question: What color were her eyes?

I was thinking that top might fall off when she was kissing Rickie. She's stolen the story away from Rickie in some of the coverage I've seen, too bad.

But it's ok at the Ryder Cup?

They are rooting for Ricky, if it's ok in Europe at the Ryder, it's ok here cheering for an American.

Please don't give me, it's a country competition logic...the Players is a competition as well, and they wanted Ricky to win, Just like Europe during the Ryder.

Otherwise what a tourney!

Sorry but I don't agree, your'e comparing apples to oranges. Ryder cup is an entirely different format. It's supposed to be patriotic. Your supposed to yell at opposing players and "every player" expects it. However, the Players Championship is considered the 5th Major, you don't see such trash at the Masters or the U.S open. Sunday had a bunch of drunk idiots that should have been escorted off the course when they pulled that crap. There is nothing wrong rooting for Ricky or even booing Sergio, but when you are yelling at him during his pre-shot routine and make him back off the tee time and time again, that is just plain lack of respect for the game and 95% of real golf enthusiasts would agree with me.

I would. Root for your guy if you wish to but being a dick to anybody is just plain obnoxious in my view. Ryder Cup is different as you stated...

Oops. Sorry for all the quotes. F**king phone!... :rage:

Regarding Ricky, Sergio and Ryder Cup... I should be more specific, I am in favor of fans enthusiastically rooting against the competitor of the player they are rooting for, as long as they are respectful and not behaving obnoxious under the influence. That's where I draw the line.

Maybe I wasn't watching closely enough...but Sergio is known to back off the tee quite easily. I don't recall seeing anything that approaches the Ryder last week. Just because "golf enthusiasts" have certain expectations, does not make it right in one instance and wrong in another.

I remember the 02 US Open at Bethpage, fans counting Sergio's waggles. He was impossible to watch.

I guess there is a reason Phil has said Bethpage would be perfect for the Ryder. 9 more years!

If it's acceptable at the Ryder, it's fine at the Players, as long as it's not when the golfer addresses the ball.

Reed right up there and Kisner showing no signs of a hangover from last week. I am barely interested in this one to be honest but we'll see what kind of board developes by the weekend. Maybe I will watch some if I like it...

Go Patrick. I will try to be watching as time allows. I see Phil is 1 under, maybe he can work out some of his golfing problems this week. Part of me still wants him to win the US open, although I don't get my hopes up anymore..

Phil and Rory moved up quite nicely today. Reed and Kisner took some steps backward. Still not sure I am interested in watching any of this over the weekend. Something compelling really has to happen at days end tomorrow to peak my interest for Sunday. Not sure what that something is but I will know it when I see it... :)

How about Caddy Alex Lifeson?

Huh?

Carp was looking for incentives to watch this week's tournament, and that was my suggestion. Alex could carry for Streb or someone.
