Here's my setlist. It looks to be about the right length -- maybe the first half is a song or two short.

Tom Sawyer

Cut to the Chase

Kid gloves

The Analog Kid

Digital Man

The Enemy Within (part I of fear)

Lock and Key

Roll the Bones

Jacob's Ladder

Vapor Trail

Spirit of Radio

--- INTERMISSION ---

Dreamline (with lasers)

Middletown Dreams

Limelight

Ghost of a Chance

Headlong Flight (drum solo)

Resist (acoustic)

Closer to the heart

Available Light

Nocturne

2112 (overture/temples/finale)

--- ENCORE ---

La Villa Strangiato (original opening + rant)

The Garden

First set length is fine. it's the second set that seems a little short.

Spring of 2015. I couldn't get much more out of him, other than we should be hearing tour news later in the fall. He's in the live venue industry..........and, he's teased me correctly like this before, with other bands.

And, since I'll probably be added to the TRF Crucification Queue for a blasphemous post without vetted sources, I'll give everyone my prediction for the opening night setlist. Bring the doubt!

One Little Victory

Driven

Carnies

Limelight

Prime Mover

New World Man

Emotion Detector

Cut To The Chase

BU2B

Malignant Narcissism w/ short drum solo

Tom Sawyer

2112 Overture

Head Long Flight

Distant Early Warning

Dreamline

Ghost Of A Chance

Show, Don't Tell

The Pass

Workin Them Angels

YYZ/Drum Solo (acoustic & electronic)/Red Lenses (from drum break on)

The Enenmy Within

The Weapon

Witch Hunt

Spirit Of Radio

La Villa Strangiato

Is this tour to be called the "f**k the long term fans tour"? What a horrible setlist. I mean, recent shitty songs like OLV and Working Them Angels, way too much synth, Show Don't Tell and Cut to the Chase, and only 2 songs from the 70s (both great, both overplayed).

Of course, I'll happily go and even appreciate getting the songs that I don't currently have on an official list live, but this would be a monstrous disappointment. Especially because there are no new songs. I really expected 2.

In fact, I'm calling bullshit and I still expect 2. And another 70s song.

Force Ten intro tops out at G4 I think. Not very high at all actually...

The one line in Marathon (that ends with "at a time") tops out at D5 I think; did he sing it that way on CAT? I'll have to check... He definitely struggled with it either way.

Do you mean the line "First you need endurance first you've got to last"?

They last played Marathon on the Time Machine Tour.

No. Last chorus. And sorry about the CAT thing, haven't listened to the recent live CDs in a while...

This is the chorus:

From first to last

The peak is never passed

Something always fires the light that gets in your eyes

One moment's high, and glory rolls on by

Like a streak of lightning

That flashes and fades in the summer sky

"One moment's high", in the last chorus before the fadeout (though that line is probably in the fadeout)

What is the opening vocal note on Force Ten? Does anyone here know?

I think it's in the key of A, unless I've been playing it completely wrong all these years.

Here it is...

http://www.maxim.com...rstar-geddy-lee

Q: What Rush song has the highest vocal note?

A: Oh God. There are moments of Hemispheres that are pretty high. We tried to rehearse “A Farewell To Kings” on the last tour and I couldn’t successfully sing that without hurting myself, so we gave up. So yeah, there are moments of the past I cannot sing anymore. We play “2112” one semi-tone down, to keep me from burning my throat out.

I think his highest vocal note is on No One at The Bridge, right? The Salvation! part?

Either that or on Cygnus' "a spiral sea unending!"

Anyway, considering that they might have most of the T4E songs on that R40 Blu-Ray Box Set, I don't think we should expect them to play them live anytime soon. I also think they will have at least 2 new songs and some kind of a major draw for the fans. 2015 would be the the 35th Anniversary of Pew And I do believe they might play it in its Entirety. This is what I'm hoping for:

Set 1:

Far Cry

Caravan

Driven (w Bass Solo)

New Rush Song

Cut to the Chase

Chain Lightning / Open Secrets

Mal-Nar Drum Solo#1

Show Don't Tell

Clockwork Angels

2112 O/T/F

Set 2:

The Spirit of Radio

Freewill

Jacobs Ladder

Entre Nous

Different Strings (Extended Outro Solo)

Natural Science

2nd New Rush Song

The Anarchist

Red Barchetta

New World Man

YYZ- Drum Solo#2

Hemispheres (Prelude)

Xanadu (Entire)

Encore:

Limelight

Tom Sawyer

Headlong Flight

:haz: :rush: :haz:

Lol losinit2k. You always have good setlist but you can't resist putting in the really bizarre ones. I'll call it now - no Chain Lightning and no Open Secrets. Not going to happen

It's in the key of A, but for some reason I read the opening vocal melody as E4 G4 G4 G4 F#4 E4. Odd...

If this is the real setlist, or at least one of them (As you all know, they had different setlist every other day or so) then that means the earliest thing (with vocals) looks like The Spirit of Radio. I wonder if they will alternate the setlist and have older material on it.

Are you this stupid in real life?

In what way could that be the "real setlist"?

There must be someone here that has the inside scoop and knows something about their plans. I really am starting to get nervous. It's almost October and not a word about anything other than releasing expensive box sets.

What are they doing???

My guess is that since it's pretty apparent that the tour is a decision on the label from that interview, the band was on vacation during the summer and started planning it when they got back. So figure they need a few months to actually plan out the show and rehearse before actually touring... I'd venture a guess that they've either finished planning the tour or are in the final stages.

It's possible they haven't said anything because the first concert is too far off. It doesn't make sense to rush anything, so better start a bit late then too soon. If the suits are the ones that planned it, they might figure to push the start date to late spring/early summer when people are more likely to attend concerts rather than start in January or February.

This is just a hunch. Rush have always given ample time to buy tickets, so I wouldn't worry. News of the tour will come when it comes.

If they're smart, they'll delay announcing a tour until after the box set comes out.

What is their fascination with CT?

It is a smaller venue (if it is the Mohegan Sun) and a great place to see a show. Saw them there for the CA tour. Plus they can visit the casino after the show.

It's pretty hard for me to be unhappy with a setlist. There are only a handful of Rush songs I don't like and most of them are ones there's no chance they'd play live anyway (I can't imagine they're in any great hurry to bring back "Dog Years" for example) so I'll be good with whatever they decide to play.

That sounds mercenary to me. Whose idea is it for these money-making box sets anyway?

I remember in an interview Geddy mentioned that they divided up band decision making between the 3 of them. Neil is in charge of merchandise.

It sounds like something their management would suggest too. But honestly they probably felt like they should do SOMEthing for the 40th anniversary since they aren't touring this year.

What Bizarre about them?? They are good songs that never were played live. They deserve their chance in the Limelight!

I'm sure that's been the plan all along. Just in time for the holidays.with a Sepember 2015 start date.

I was thinking they probably would start a tour in the Spring since they seem to like to do outdoor venues.

I don't know why? They sound so much better in doors!

Yeah I know. I wish they'd play more indoor venues. Rush was meant to be heard in an enclosed space where you can hear everything so much better.
