I expect an instrumental medley similar to R30. Just the three of them settling into a groove while saving the vocals. Get some of the older songs out of the way. I would love (certainly don’t expect it) for the medley to end with Necromancer: Return Of The Prince but take the effects off and have it be Neil’s true voice that does the narration. Ahh…a guy can dream.

I still think Presto comes back. I made this argument in another thread, but it really is one of truest lyrics regarding who Neil was. It may shock some, but many introverts have moments of frustration with wanting to be introverted which I believe Presto speaks to. If this is a celebration in part to Neil’s legacy, Presto has to be included, just my opinion.

The wait for this tour seems to last forever

I can’t contain myself. I will be clued here opening night watching the set list scroll song after song. Then I will go on You Tube and construct a playlist in that order. Yes, I have issue, but when you have been resolved for a decade that something is never going to happen and then it does, I’m all in. It’s our second, actually third chance. Rare. -
Kid Gloves and Turn The Page for sure. Really curious what 35 songs are on the list

I am also going to go out on a limb here and think that all or an instrumental version of “Return Of The Prince” would be epic way to end the 1st set. (A) it’s rarely been played so people will lose their mind. (B) include the narration by Neil as part of his celebration (maybe they can alter the narration by taking out the effects and just having it narrated in Neil’s true voice) (C) it’s always been the best song on the album - for me anyway. Idk. I think it would be cool. -

Idk. I think alternating Presto and Available Light would be a good. For me, lyrically, these two truly reveal Neil’s authenticate feelings. I equate the opening verse in Presto to the “I can’t pretend a stranger is a long awaited friend” line in Limelight. The Limelight line spoke of fame. The opening Presto verse shares a frustrating of being an introvert. I am connected to the universe and nature yet I choose to hide and not engage. I could go on about how I feel Presto is lyrically just the inner frustrations of an introvert, but I digress. Available Light is similar to Presto but comes from a different perspective of the introvert. In my experience, the introvert doesn’t always choose isolation. Quite often, we are most comfortable in that space. It’s our go-to. Our fallback. It doesn’t mean that we don’t ever want to chase the sun around the world. That’s the beauty of Available Light. For me, it expresses those moments of being introverted when one questions why one is an introvert. for me, these two are two of the most personal lyrics Neil ever wrote and that’s why they should be included in some way. -
Extra Musicians on Stage with Geddy and Alex

This is simple. If they can’t play a song themselves, it wont be in the setlist. That’s who they have always been. Also - they wouldn’t have scheduled all these dates if they thought they couldn’t handle it and needed outside assistance. Geddy is talking about a keyboardist because he doesn’t want to be tied to a keyboard. Maybe that’s just a regret he had upon reflection. I can’t see anything more than that. As they have for 50+ years - they will stay true to themselves. If they felt they couldn’t, they wouldn’t be doing this in the first place. -
Sure, CA can be the final album but that doesn’t mean a single or two should be forbidden. In their purest form, they are an original band who write original music. The last tour was in a sense playing a role of a cover band, rehashing music already written (albeit their own). But that’s not who they are or have ever been. Why change now? Now - I don’t think they should force it. If it’s not there, it’s not there. I just don’t think that is the case. The buzz some 8 months out is that they are touring. There’s also a huge fan base that has to absorb the idea of a different person behind the drums. Yet, that will begin to wane over the winter. What would steer the conversation back to the band and create buzz in the spring is to release 2-4 originals. Nothing else will drive the ship come March or April.

I already have 3rd night MSG. I’m about 1.25-1.50 from MSG but 2.5 to Philly. So I checked out. Crazy good tickets still available even 5 hours after the presale started. So much cheaper as well. I got section 211 at MSG for $320 per seat during the presale. Philly has section 123 (side stage row 20) for roughly the same price. Crazy difference in price and that there are still tickets available.

Never say never Always avoid always We also thought we’d never see another show. So… Like I said earlier, there may not be plans for one but if something presents itself organically, it will happen. After all, they create music. It’s not like they are a cover band, especially of themselves.

I’m curious if Neil left any unfinished lyrics. While I don’t fancy myself a writer (I’ve never published anything), I have had “stirrings” my entire life. NOTES in my iPhone has like 100+ of those stirrings either half baked or finished (though they are truly never finished - always available to tweak even if it’s been years). Point is - I can see a scenario where he had some material lying about.
-
I think there’s a possibility but I also believe it will be born organically out of the time they spend together. While “Gone” is a nice song and has sentimental value, only Ged gets the credit - which hasn’t happened in ages due to the band early on creating equity with music/lyric copyrights. Instead, if something grows from their sessions, I think they won’t hesitate. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. Though, time is on their side.

Night-to-night variation in the setlist

Did they confirm 2 sets with an intermission and encore like they have been doing with the “Evening With”? I was thinking with the shorter show they were going back to one set, no intermission.
