Great songs, or finishes, to albums? Off the top of my head (my tastes are admittedly so limited)...

# 1. The Beatles Sgt Peppers -- Sgt Pepper's (reprise)/A Day in the Life

Led Zeppelin IV -- When the Levee Breaks

Rush Hemispheres -- La Villa Strangiato

The Beatles Revolver -- Tomororow Never Knows

The Beatles Abbey Road -- Side 2 medley

Led Zeppelin II -- Bring it on Home

New Order Power Corruption & Lies -- Leave Me Alone

Tones on Tail The Album Pop -- Rain

Wire 154 -- 40 Versions

Depeche Mode A Broken Frame -- The Sun and the Rainfall (not a D-Mode fan but like the song)

OMD Architecture and Morality -- The Beginning and the End

Van Halen Fair Warning -- Sunday Afternoon in the Park/One Foot Out the Door

The Kinks Something Else by The Kinks -- Waterloo Sunset

Yo La Tengo Summer Sun -- Let's Be Still/Take Care

Sufjan Stevens Seven Swans -- The Transfiguration

Velvet Underground Loaded -- Oh! Sweet Nuthin

The Clash London Calling -- Train in Vain

And of course, Yes Close to the Edge -- Siberian Khatru

Moving Pictures (Rush) -- Vital Signs

Permanent Waves (Rush) -- Natural Science

Close to the Edge (Yes) -- Siberian Khatru

Time and a Word (Yes) -- Time and a Word

Relayer (Yes) -- To Be Over

Heavy Horses (Jethro Tull) -- Weathercock

Aftertaste (Helmet) -- Crisis King

Plankton Comes Alive (The Mess) -- Buckwheat's Diner

ELP would've had one of the greatest finishes ever with A Time and A Place on Tarkus, but they had to go ahead and include that Ready Eddy crap.

Special mention goes out to Iron Maiden who always end their albums on great notes. A few examples: Fear Of The Dark, Alexander The Great, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, Iron Maiden, Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Legacy, Mother Russia, etc. They're the masters of ending an album.

Rutlefan, I'm surprised!

Wire Pink Flag - "12XU"

That was a miss for sure. Maybe because Wire themselves considered it sort of an albatross that they tried to avoid, like Radiohead and Creep. Nevertheless, it is a great song. I'll add Options R bonus track to that as it perfectly followed 12XU on the original CD release (not included on the remastered reissue though).
