LocalsBandGuy Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Song Title Number of Votes Popularity -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jacob's Ladder 2286 36.7% Hemispheres 1521 24.4% Middletown Dreams 1115 17.9% A Farewell To Kings 1102 17.7% Fly By Night 967 15.5% The Weapon 893 14.3% Kid Gloves 861 13.8% The Enemy Within 800 12.8% Vapor Trail 734 11.8% Manhattan Project 714 11.5% I'd like to think 3 will make the cut, but my gut says just 2 will be in the setlist: Hemispheres (Prelude only), and Middletown Dreams. Maybe 1 of these gets the 'strings treatment'?
dtpoet Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I'm going with 2; JL and KG. Maybe a hint at Hemi-Prelude.
Running Rebel Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Can't argue with the list. I'd love to hear any of them.

snowdog212 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Well you know AFTK wont be played Geddy said as much in an interview
Alchemical Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I can see half of those making the cut. Jacob's Ladder, Middletown Dreams/Manhattan Project (One or the other), A Farewell to Kings, The Weapon, Kid Gloves
The Mighty Dudad Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I'd be shocked if ANY of those songs made the set list. Personally would love to see Kid Gloves...but not holding my breath.
The Cat 3 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I'd love to see them play "Middletown Dreams". I think that, with the string section, that "Jacob's Ladder" is good bet.
BU2BoneU Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 If you watch the Hemispheres Prelude from the Counterparts bootleg, Geddy's singing is extremely forced and pitchy, and that was 1993-94. I can't imagine what it would sound like in 2012.
LocalsBandGuy Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 QUOTE (BU2BoneU @ Sep 5 2012, 06:24 PM)If you watch the Hemispheres Prelude from the Counterparts bootleg, Geddy's singing is extremely forced and pitchy, and that was 1993-94. I can't imagine what it would sound like in 2012. I'm thinking an instrumental Hemispheres Prelude, maybe with the strings playing the vocal melody.........
ReflectedLight Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 it's either going to be something different where they mix things up a bit or the agony of defeat.
ReRushed Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I'm surprised "The Analog Kid" isn't on the list. It should be.
ReflectedLight Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 QUOTE (ReRushed @ Sep 5 2012, 07:52 PM) I'm surprised "The Analog Kid" isn't on the list. It should be. i'm surprised also. don't worry they won't play it. they'll play roll the bones instead.
pdurbin22 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Mark my words: "The Analog Kid" WILL be played on this tour.

Todem Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) I think we will get: Jacobs Ladder The Analog Kid Cut To The Chase Manhattan Project Edited September 6, 2012 by Todem
SchemingDemon Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 QUOTE (FountainOfSyrinx @ Sep 5 2012, 05:38 PM) Vapor Trail 734 11.8% NO WAY (I wish though ) Funny, I've had a weird feeling for months that this is a song they're finally going to play
Snyder80 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 If they play The Enemy Within or Middletown Dreams, I'm going to cream myself right where I stand.

Alex always changes up in some way and they're really a joy live.
sb2112 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I predicted Jacob's Ladder, Manhattan Project and The Enemy Within. The Weapon is one I could see happening too.

marblesmike Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I think Cut to the Chase might make it this time around. Isn't it usually one of the more requested songs each tour?
bigalfan Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I could hear the first two played repeatedly for three hours and I'd walk away happy! see? >
anchorman Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 At some point, the band will have to acknowledge that Hemispheres (the song) is one of the best pieces of music they have ever composed. I don't care about Geddy's vocals. Pipe them in if you have to, but play the darn thing and play it in the right key. I would love to hear every one of the songs listed. It would be a welcome change from these staples: SOR Tom Sawyer Free Will 2112 (Intro) CTTH Limelight YYZ Working Man I realize Tom Sawyer HAS to be played, but that's it. Working Man has become a joke.
