the masked drummer
There's a new rock song i just heard on the radio that rips off robert fripp's guitar intro to "larks tongues" and they just made a song out of it, simplified it a bit and are calling it a song. They rearranged it into a 4/4 song. Don't know the band name yet, but it's shockingly similar.

Mr. Not
QUOTE (priest_of_syrinx @ Jul 17 2012, 09:41 AM) Giant for a Day is actually Gentle Giant's most groundbreaking album. QUOTE (wiki)Giant for a Day is an album by British progressive rock band Gentle Giant which was released in 1978. The band's facility for counterpoint and medieval-themed arrangements had largely been abandoned by this stage in their career. Commercial success eluded them, while their original fan base began to grow restless. This album is generally acknowledged as the lowest point in the band's career. Yes, he introduced Jon Anderson to the book "Siddharta" which is based on the founder of Buddhism. It is what inspired "Close to the Edge" because the character in the book finds the answers to wisdom by the edge of a river.
GeddyRulz
QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jul 15 2012, 11:46 PM) Contrary to popular belief, King Crimson's best album isn't ITCOTCK or Red, it's Lizard. Similarly, Yes's best album is not Close to the Edge, Fragile, Relayer or The Yes Album. It's Tales From Topographic Oceans. Now you're just talking crazy!
