GUP1771
Neil's playing feels so fluid and warm, which is something that he was trying to achieve differently in his drumming compared to his past. Sure, he's made a variety of drum parts that kick ass, (although he has moments of that on CA a bit for sure) he really serves the songs in a way that allow such nice transitions and again, fluidity. I'm no drummer, but I'm sure that's not as easy to do as it sounds. Neil is always trying to find ways to expand and improve himself as a drummer, and I admire that of him. marblesmike
It's his best in a while, although the sound quality makes it tough to clearly hear exactly what he's doing sometimes. Too bad the drums don't sound like they did on MP.

Yeah, you can't hear his toms very well in a lot of songs that feature it prominently (The Anarchist is a great example). I like how Neil doesn't overplay for CA. When the drums come in on something like The Garden, he just keeps it simple and it really makes the song a lot better IMO. Sometimes songs don't need huge-ass crazy fills and ultra-complex beats. HowItIs
I can hear the toms just fine. I love that he's going to the floor toms so much. Very boomy (yeah, okay... it's not the technical term).

I was giving some thought to picking up a really really good set of headphones anyhow... If this is actually the case, I may go ahead and spring for them. Tick
The word I would use is, "inspired". It seems the band has saved the best for last. A rare late career masterpiece. They don't happen all that often.

I always looked at headphones in a way to enhance the music, not make up for crappy production
