danielmclark
QUOTE (losingit2k @ May 22 2012, 03:35 PM) Yeah, I guess you're right! Just like Star Wars Episode 1: "Hey, What if it sucks?" There's a great parallel here. Episode I was supposed to be awesome. It had all the ingredients for awesome. Liam Neeson, awesome. Ewan MacGregor, awesome. Natalie Portman, awesome. State of the art (for the time) special effects. The promise of seeing Jedi vs. Sith at the height of their skills. George Lucas, who brought us the original trilogy... all awesome things. Then we have Rush. Neil Peart, awesome rock drummer. Geddy Lee, world-class bassist and can mostly still hit some of the high notes. Alex Lifeson, our favorite goofball virtuoso guitarist. Almost 40 years of music. Some of the best rock songs ever recorded. Excellent stage show. Great videos. All awesome things. Star Wars: Episode I had Jar Jar Binks and it damn near ruined the entire movie all by itself. An orchestra or string quartet playing with Rush... would damn near ruin the entire concert all by itself.

There's a good reason you didn't play them live. What kind of drugs are you on, man? Losing It? Open Secrets? Available Light? Emotion Detector? Chain Lightning? Cut to the Chase? Vapor Trail? The Stars Look Down? Nocturne? You bet your life! I want to hear that live!

I truly don't think an orchestra or a string quartet would ruin the whole thing! Specially if its already part of the song! You beat me to it, the stand out sentence in an excellent and meaty interview were the words: "We really enjoy working with Nick but we'll see where we are with our next record." Good old Alex, already thinking about the next album! I love you man. I wonder if that stung Nick a little bit.

presto123
Well if they are still going to do more records they better start cranking them out faster than they have been. At their age they can't wait 5 years between releases.

Good, bad, andrush
QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ May 21 2012, 11:57 PM) "There`ll be a good portion of new material and some older stuff that we`ll be revisiting that you haven`t heard in a long time. There`s also a couple that we haven`t played live before that we`re thinking about doing. There`s quite a few in contention for the final set list." I'm happy! That made me jizz.
