Seen any episodes of the show yet? 2, 1 and 3 are the best seasons for me in order.

I've seen the show, most episodes, and I think this film wasn't as good, simply because I don't think a film version of a TV show can match the ongoing storyline that you get in a series. This came over as just an extended episode where they tried to recreate the show. It wasn't bad but I was a bit disappointed.

This is ok but I think they tried too hard to make it into a Silence of the Lambs kind of flick, especially at the end where she ends up alone at the maniac's lair not calling for back-up which she could have easily done. My main complaint was that Perlman, Sheen, Robert Knepper and Gina Philips are wasted, there's not enough of any of them in this film.

Superbly good movie!!! If you liked "Hero", you might like this one. It takes from the premise of "Kaghemusha" but goes in a totally different direction. The lead actor is very good.

I can't believe I'm the only asian buff around here!!

Which begs the question: Which do you prefer?

Overall, Platoon for me. But the boot camp part of Full Metal Jacket is tops. (How's that for hedging?)

Yeah the boot camp part of Full Metal Jacket is really excellent. Platoon was pretty traumatic the first time I saw it. It's hard to judge between the two. I find Oliver Stone to be untrustworthy so I have to give it to Kubrick despite the weaker second half.

This is a great doc, entitled "David Wants To Fly" with cameos by Sir Paul & Ringo BUT...it ain't a musical.

It's free from Link TV and you may, if you can, stream to your TV.

Django Unchained. Loved it. Didn't know what to expect at first but it's your typical Tarantino movie. Bloody and sadistically funny.
