I also watched Water for Elephants.  I enjoyed the book.  The film was just kind of...there.  Not bad.  Not really good.

I felt the same. Just good but it did follow the book very well.

Followed the book too perfectly. I felt like I was reading a book that didn't leave room for my imagination, since it was all there visually.

good idea, weak execution.

I've never seen Timberlake as an actor but I just can't believe he can be good. Can he?

His acting was fine but the script was kinda dumb. I think Timberlake is pretty talented and he always slays it on Saturday Night Live.

I enjoyed it. I wouldn't call it great but it kept me entertained. Love Jennifer Aniston being naughty. wink.gif

Ah ok. Haven't seen SNL in well over a decade. Any film that Timberlake's been in that's decent then?

I think I saw him in something, this thing featuring Samuel L Jackson as some southern blues man, Black Cat Moan or Black Snake Moan or Blackjack on a Plane. Probably the snake one since it was Jackson in it. It was kind of interesting. I can't remember one thing about Timberlake's performance though.

Dark Knight Rises

Decent enough, but way too much monologuing and narrating by onscreen characters, not voice overs, to move the story forward and explain things for my taste. Oh and 45 minutes too long imo.

To add to my previous post on B-movies, just watched Megashark v Crocosaurus.

There's another 90 mins i'll never get back. At least some of the others i've watched were actually enjoyable, but this was just a pile of crap.

At the minute we are watching Broken Bridges.

I wont call it another B-movie, because the girlfriend loves Toby Keith and would batter me if I said that. scared.gif

I actually prefer Beer for my Horses.

I love this movie more every time I see it. Tim Burton's best film since Ed Wood.

I'm a sucker for almost all of Clint's movies

Everyone in that film is just awesome (especially Penn). Hell, I bet the key grip and caterer were also awesome. tongue.gif

You should check out the dvd commentary with Robbins & Bacon. Some interesting tidbits in there.

The Killing - great early Kubrick film. After watching it I realized how much Tarantino ripped it off for Reservoir Dogs.

Tarantino is pretty overrated as a director. As a film fanatic he's pretty cool though...

I still like his films, but yeah, he's not the great original director everyone thinks he his. Every one of his films has been a homage to a different genre film. Still enjoy all his films though.
