Can You Recommend Instrumental Albums?

I read an article recently that said that listening to music while working can help concentration, but that most people only saw a significant benefit if there were no lyrics. I've given it a try, and it works for me, so now I'm on the hunt for more instrumentals. I've a Spotify user, so this is the playlist I'm working with:

http://open.spotify.com/user/danielmclark/...LSTOmWNUjRVp12X

Joe Satriani:

Black Swans and Wormholes

Surfing with the Alien

Super Colossal

Strange Beautiful Music

Is There Love In Space?

Crystal Planet

Joe Satriani

Flying in a Blue Dream

Not of this Earth

Steve Vai:

Flex-able

Flex-able Leftovers

Elusive Light and Sound

Ultra Zone

Alien Love Secrets

Fire Garden

Passion and Warfare

Eric Johnson:

Tones

Marty Friedman:

Music For Speeding

Scenes

I've also added a few random tracks:

Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover

Rush - well, all of theirs. You know 'em.

What else should I add to the playlist? Obviously I'm looking for more stuff like this, not instrumental country or polkas or something.

Shoot me whole albums or individual tracks!

Planet X - Quantum

Dixie Dregs - What If

Dixie Dregs - Free Fall

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Birds of Fire

Return To Forever - Romantic Warrior

Weather Report - Heavy Weather

Liquid Tension Experiment - Self Titled

Frank Zappa - Hot Rats

They're mostly jazz fusion, but all of these album are great (imo).

Honestly, if you want something without lyrics, go for the post-rock genre. It's delved from the progressive rock genre and has many similarities. I would go for bands like Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor. You can also go with something more chill out like Olafur Arnalds, a European pianist/composer who has a beautiful discography. Best part about all of these, with the exception of some Sigur Ros songs, are that they are all instrumental and are musicians playing just to play and see what happens. Edited by Oracle

Paul Gilbert's instrumental albums are ace - Get Out Of My Yard, Silence Followed By A Deafening Roar and Fuzz Universe.

Shawn Lane -Powers Of Ten

Guthrie Govan - Erotic Cakes

Latitudes - Agonist

Mogwai and God Is an Astronaut are worth checking out too

Pretty much everything by Ronny Jordan, as well.

You guys kick so much ass... I've added about 200 songs to that playlist I think, and I'm not even done searching for all the recommendations yet.

Thank you!!

just make sure you leave the Sigur Ros off your list

more than five minutes of that and you'll end up throwing your computer out the window
