ghostworks
let's think about it a little longer... side one GFTO... hmm, pretty good stuff here, if not too deep - Steve Howe is on fire TOTC... nothing much going on here, though - especially after coming so strong out of the gate PARALLELS... Wakeman + Swiss church organ = awesome - again, nothing deep, but a great groove side two WS... wait, isn't this track two on side one? oh no, right - it's a leftover from a Jon Anderson solo album - polite, but what's it doing on a Yes album? AWAKEN... now whoa, hold on - this is great, no - phenomenal... and it goes on and on - this is giving CTTE and TFTO a run for their money - this might actually be better than The Gates Of Delirium... incredible! all in all, a terrific three-track e.p.! RUSHHEAD666
I must be wasted drunk! I listened to "Going For The One" once again a few weeks ago thanks to this forum and I must say that it doesn't do much for me. Sorry guys, but I'm "Going For The Zero" tonight. Shit my wife is in Rome for a week. It sucks when your woman is gone. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. I can't get into "Going For The One." Glad I was able to marry my "One." Signed, "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" (a much better album) 90666 Edited July 24, 2011 by RUSHHEAD666

But common, you must at least like awaken, is just epic epicness.

I remember watching the "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" video on MTV back when I was a kid and I thought Jon Anderson was a chick. I will have to give "Awaken" another listen. Don't get me wrong, I will always love Yes and I have fourth row center for Styx, Yes, Kansas and the Greg Kihn Band in August. "Going For The One" never did anything for me. I'll take "Topographic" over that album any day!

Mr. Krinkle
QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Jul 24 2011, 09:50 AM) Tales is a great album, too. Love every song on it. Not a fan of The Ancient. I'd like to make a one-album version of Tales. Each song could be trimmed down a bit and it would still be a long album.
Silas Lang
I think 90125, Tormato, Topographic and the first two are all better

Gompers
Hey! It's another naked guy album. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/95/Yes_Going_for_the_One.jpg I like it but not as much as this naked guy album by a different band. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51xQOgLsdLL._SL160_.jpg These were only one year apart in release date. GeddyRulz
Great album! My favorite track is the most overlooked one: Chris Squire's "Parallels," which he nearly included on his 1975 solo album. (It would've fit perfectly with the other Fish Out of Water material; another song with heavy bass and organ.) "Parallels" is probably the last track people think of when they think of GftO, but it's my favorite.
2112mjh
: Love this Album. Parallels has to be my alltime favourite Yes track. Turn the lights off, turn the sound up to 11 and let this song carry you away. Drama/melody and it still manages to kick some ass. Stunning simplicity.
